@ValerieB Now Im at my computer, its easier to write than on the Iphone.

I still think she is unusual for a common red moggie. Neither is the marble pattern is very typical classic tabby, it reminds sooner of the marbles of a marbled bengal.

I do notice she has a white spot on the chin, and some of the white hairs on belly do wander some up into the swirls near the belly. Purebred bengals has never white spots - but we arent talking about purebreds.

But the high contrasts in the swirls isnt only because of the white hairs wandering up. On other pics we can see the contrast is unusually high anyway for a red cat.

So perhaps not just a common red, but for example, a cinnamon? Which is sorts of dark red.
Cinnamon isnt common in the general moggie population, but appears among them purebred.

Thus, I do think here must be an Ancestor. Possibly marbled bengal, if cinnamon is allowed there.... :)

You are now living in France, where roots and old nobility still do matters. Remind them, your sweetie isnt just a typical american self made girl. She does has roots, and she does has Old Ancestry.

She has no papers nor sword, but she has her claws and teeths if it will be anytime necessary to prove and defend. :)
That colour is not really "allowed" but It can appear now and then in some lunes because of he cats used with foundation bengals. They can be show in a new traits, I think. I do not know if there are any breeders working on this color to be accepted, as they are with blue bengals.
@ValerieB, just as @stefanz said, I think you may be right, there might be some Bengal in there. That face shape is quite quite nice for a Bengal, and so is her body structure. She is the same age as my purebreed bengal Freya and I can see some resemblance there, if you ignore her colour.
I cannot say the same about @britanyk22 boy. If there is any bengal in Gatsby, it is well hidden.

He is neutered (required when adopting) and definitely "teenage" behavior! I don't mind, just need to stop the constant attacking of my arms/hands. I do not have other animals unfortunately, I have an apartment and just got Gatsby about a month ago. He is definitely dominant at my parents house to our 80 lb lab! The stuffed animal is a good idea; he has a snowman toy that hangs on the doorknob that he wrestles with and carries around with him. Something his size or bigger would probably be a good idea! I've tried clapping, yelling no, walking away (he attacks my legs) and a spray bottle for a short time. Nothing seems to have permanent affects though. Thanks for the advice!
There is a lot of snobbery about what is a proper Bengal or Bengal colour and behaviour traits.Everyone seems to have an opinion or to be some sort of "expert"? I ignore all this because the great thing about a Bengal or any breed/mix breed of cat is their individual personality! Some follow you round constantly talking and taking an interest in everything you do others just chill, relax and do their own thing. Some are stark raving mad and some just have mad half hours.Whatever they are I love them all and when out and about always take time to say hello to any cat sitting on a wall or sunbathing in their garden - they never cease to amaze and amuse me with their antics. My Norm is sitting on lounge windowsill watching the many Red Kites hovering above my house and he makes a strange clicking noise from his throats that I've never heard any cat make?

Indy is an American Shorthair cross who was born to a very feral mom and an unknown father. She also was the only one in her litter with lynx tips on her ears.
I love the adopt don't shop moniker!I won the lottery when I stumbled across Norm - he was in Washington DC,USA for first 4 years of his life - cruelly treated and badly abused by nasty spoilt rich brats.I would love to be able to ask him how/if he likes his new home in Berkshire. He can still be a bit nervy and jumpy of sudden noises if you drop a fork in metal sink while washing up but softly softly he's growing to trust me totally bit by bit.Nobody will ever hurt my Norm again - that's the promise I made him the day I opened his cat carrier in my lounge!x

I’ve seen a lot of replies with cats that look just like mine - he looks like a tabby and has white on his chin (which pure bengals don’t have etc). He also has striking bengal characteristics (love of heights, very loud, glitter fur) - though ironically hates water!

We know he is a bengal cross as we met his mother (seal point snow bengal). She was a cross too (3/4 bengal) but undeniably strong genes just from looking at her. I’ll post pictures of him below - he looks so similar to a lot of the other photos!
He has the sweetest temperament - and ironically is best friends with our puppy who’s just a few weeks younger. We were nervous but definitely helps them both burn off a lot of energy - so that might help anyone having a problem with aggression. We never had any issue as he just loves cuddles, but still a thought!

Wow my cat looks exactly the same and same in terms of personality extremely different from other cats I had. He can be a bit aggressive, also I have a feeling that he has Hyperesthesia, but he can be very loving when he’s in the mood for cuddles. Also loves to stare at running water, he always jumps in the bathtub and just sits there, sometimes we turn on the water for him and he loves it.

Your cat is very cute! :redheartpump:

He appears to be a red classic tabby and white domestic shorthair, with a typical classic tabby "bullseye" pattern.

Personality traits aren't a reliable way to evaluate a cat's breed ancestry. Many domestic shorthairs love water and have a high energy level. Most cats are not any particular breed, and are not "mixes" of breeds, unlike dogs.

Are you having trouble with your cat's aggressive tendencies? You might try posting in the cat behavior forum for advice. We have a lot of members here who can be helpful with suggestions!
