My cat hermione is pregnant or atleast she shows all kinds of signs she is. We rescued her December 15,2012 she already had an odd feeling belly but we thought she was just fat. Now that area has dropped and gotten bigger so we think she's preggers. I need help! Last night around 4 am she was licking her vagina and circling for a while but I fell asleep and woke up today worried she might be in labor. I need to know some sure signs without paying to get her seen cuz we don't have her insured yet

We've had her for about 52 days now when we got her from some random lady in a Peking lot. We don't know how long she's been preggers before we got her

I think about 68 days is normal. Search on the forum here about nesting, how you can assist, what is normal, etc. It is not an experience for the squeamish, but you may be able to save kittens or a momma that otherwise might have died.

AFAIK Insurance doesn't normally cover kittening costs unless you buy a breeding policy, which I'm sure you won't have.

If she got pregnant on the 15 Dec she would be due on the 18th Feb - 2 weeks from now - so at most she would have been 2 weeks pregnant then.  So, I'm rather surprised you thought there was something different back then.  Usually there is no change until 3 weeks or so.

Since you don't know when she got pregnant all you can do is wait, and do some reading and preparation.

To read:

http://www.fabcats.org/breeders/infosheets/breeding_from_your_cat/felineparturition.html

To prepare:

Nest or nests, cardboard boxes are ideal as you can get rid of them, and you can also cut down the side once the kittens start toddling.  Put in washable bedding, not towelling, and it can help to put a puppy pad on top to mop up fluids during delivery - just gently pull it out once everything is over.

Details of how to get a vet in an out of hours emergency, and how to get to them.

Set of ditigal scales that weigh in grams - weighing the kittens each day at about the same time is the best way to see if things are OK.  Each kitten should put on 10g or more almost every day.  The odd day of no gain isn't a problem but 2 is a big warning something is wrong.  If none of them are gaining mum needs checking at the vets.  Even though you probably don't use grams normally, they are far easier for kittens as there are no decimal points to worry about, and 10g is a nice easy number to remember.

Mountains of cat food and piles of cat litter.  She needs to be allowed to eat as much as she wants as do the kittens, who will wean themselves.

Worming.  It's important to worm her and the kittens - roundworm can be passed to kittens in her milk.  In the UK Panacur is the usual wormer for pregnant queens and their kittens but you have to know how much they weigh to give the right dose.  If you can't get it where you live you need to ring your vets and ask what is suitable - pet shop wormers are often ineffective and sometimes dangerous.  Panacur is safe for pregnant queens as well.

Lastly, don't let her out.  She can get pregnant again very soon after delivery.  Find out how soon after delivery your vet will neuter her.

Good luck.

Does she look big enough for babies? Iv already made a birthing box and have been feeding her kitten food cuz it's all she wants to eat she doesn't like anything else. And when we got her I think she wAs 2-3 weeks cuz she felt like her belly was like a sack or close to something like that cuz my other cats stomach is fat and felt nothing like hers

It's not possible to tell from photos.  Have you felt any kittens moving?  We usually only notice that for the last 2 weeks of their pregnancy.

Cats carry for 65 days from first mating.

You got her on the 15th December, if she was 2 weeks pregnant then she first mated on the 1st December and she would not have appeared pregnant in any way.  Whe would be due on the 4th Feb, yesterday.

If she was 3 weeks pregnant when you got her, the kittens would have been due on the 28th Jan and she would almost certainly have delivered by now.
