I have a 4 year old female feral cat that has recently decided that she hates me and has attacked me 2 times,I found her as a kitten with her eyes still shut bottle raised her she has always been grumpy but not aggressive typical federal afraid of strangers pretty much likes to view outside from the window, also Hates her tail and will attack it just because it moved, she seems like she just went bipolar andI am not sure how to deal with it.. I'ma step away from having to put her down, any insite would be appreciated as she was a real fun cat

And she has lived in the house all her life, I would take her for walks outside never had contact with other cats or wildlife

There could be several things going on and without being there to witness her behavior, here are some of my guesses: Something has triggered this behavior- and suspect you might have an outdoor stray (male) who has sprayed the outside of your home and set her off. One way to check this is to invest in a good black light- and when all the world goes dark, go outside and shine the light around and see if anything glows green (check the windows, doors and also look high)

She could be telling you she doesn't feel good. Aggression is sometimes a pain response. I would get her to the vet and get her checked out. Run bloodwork, the whole nine yards. Don't destroy her before you rule out all the other causes of her aggression.

Any recent changes in the home? New boyfriend, new furniture, another pet? Sometimes changes (even as minor as changing the bedcovers) can set cats off.

If you live in Oregon, I will take her. I would rather work with her and see what is going on, rather than have her put to sleep because suddenly you fear her.

Any updates on your cat? I do think that something has set off this aggressive behavior and she is just transferring her stress onto you as most cats will do. It could also be that there is something wrong with her tail the way you describe this new behavior towards her tail. There could be so many factors involved and you need to try to do some detective work to figure out if it is caused from the environment (something has frightened her) or something internal - medically. I would also try the black light outside as Hissy explained. This could very well be a good reason for her behavior and pent up frustration. :vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes: for your kitty.
