after seeing a picture of a sandwich the other day....

What is your favourite sandwich filling?

Mine changes all the time but I dont think you can really go past a bacon sandwich or a ham and pease pudding stotty :D

I crave variety so to peg it down to one single sandwich is pretty hard.  I'd have to say my top three sandwiches are, in no particular order:

Bacon, avocado, and tomato

A GOOD club sandwich

A home made vegetable panini with lots of grilled veggies (red pepper, zucchini, asparagus, portabellos), arugula, a balsamic vinaigrette, and some goat cheese or Asiago.

I'm so sorry, AJ, but your post just made me snort my coffee! What is a "ham and pease pudding stotty"??? And please forgive me, I'm not trying to be rude, honest I'm not. It just struck me as funny and I guess it's just the mood I'm in on a Monday morning.

My favorite sandwich filling is a Reuben, with lots and lots of sauerkraut and corned beef. Easy on the dressing.

I would have to say my fav is Italian Salomi and Provolone cheese on Italian bread with lettuce, tomato and mayo.  Now that's a sandwich, lol.

My favorite is an ooey gooey grilled cheese sandwich, but I rarely have them. I normally have turkey.

:lol3: I had to go look that up too! The pease pudding looks an awful lot like hummus, which is better than the mushy (mooshy as my grandmother used to say) green peas I had in mind. Mmmm, ham. I could really go a nice ham and cheese sarnie right now.
Stottie is a type of bread popular in Northern England. A favourite of the Geordies. :)

Yeah stotties are native to the north east, Pease pudding more so none of the tinned rubbish it has to be fresh from the butchers or deli counter!

I love avocados. How do you make a sandwich with it.
My favorite is homemade chicken salad.

I have to agree about the Reuben - just love them. But it's something I don't have very often. My favorite "basic" sandwich would be tuna and tomato, or tuna & muenster cheese --- on pumpernickel or whole wheat bread. Oh - and grilled cheese & tomato would be a close second.

I like Reubens, oddly---I hate rye bread, corned beef, and Thousand Island Dressing (I do like sauerkraut though), but together they're just soooo good! There's just something about the combination.

Bacon, lettuce, and tomato, with or without avocado.

My day-to-day sandwich is packaged guacamole, cheddar cheese, and salad greens. I don't know if it's my favorite but it's quick! :lol3:

I'm picky about bread, though. The only kind I like is New England Brown Bread. White bred tastes like paste and most wheat breads are too squishy. I like a nice crunchy whole-grain bread.
