I became really depressed because I adopted a kitten just last thursday but unfortunately i brought him back to his original owners yesterday (and I cried a river) just because I just realized that kittens should be dewormed and I can't think of myself looking to him while he is doing his thing because I am very very scared of worms (i know he has plenty of worms in his belly because it looks bloated, he eats a lot and very fast, i can feel his ribs and his hind legs are very thin,i feel very lonely and pity for him, i'm feeling disappointed with myself right now) anything that looks like a worm!i think im going to collapse. I don't know what to do, im planning of getting him back again but what will I do to deworm him without getting scared of worms????!!!!

please somebody give me an advice!it will be very much appreciated. Our place is not a city, it's a province, there are very limited cat supplies here, there is nowhere to buy a litter sand so im just using sand mixed with baking soda (this adds to my problem).

If you keep your kitten inside and worm him regularly you will never see any worms.. he won't have any.  It is very bad that the original owners allowed him to get into such a state.  And it is so easy to worm kittens; it's just a medication that takes all sorts of forms .. liquid that goes on the skin, 'treat' tablets, paste etc.  These are all available online too.

If you get him back, let us know.  There are lots of knowledgable people here, and really good articles etc that will help you with your new kitten.

Hopefully you will go and get him back.

You can buy litter online - indeed you can buy almost anything online, and often at a better price than in a store so long as you don't buy tiny little amounts.

You can also buy Drontal worm tablets online, and they are effective against all types of worms.  You need to weigh him to make sure you give the right dose, or you need to go to the vets.  He should have a visit there anyway for a general health check, and he needs vaccinations and neutering as soon as the vet will do it.

You will probably not see a worm at all.  Is there someone else that can scoop his tray for the first day or two after worming him?
