We have been battling fleas and now tape worms for several months. This is becoming exaccerbating because it doesn't seem like it's a huge problem. I don't "see" the fleas  hopping everywhere and I vaccum regularly, I've bathed the cats with dawn dish detergent, I'm not being bit and neither are my kids. I was treating the cats with advantage but the fleas apparently became resistant to that. Now I'm trying frontline 2. This is the 2nd month in a row of treatment. I also found out they have tape worms due to the fleas. My vet said we have to treat them 3 months straight in a row to make sure everything is erradicated so that's what the plan is. I put the flea medication on yesterday and then got this trade winds medication from petsmart which the reviews were awesome and everyone swore by that it worked. Has anyone ever used this tradewinds medication for their pet? How long does it take to work? It's been 36 hours. I'm still seeing some sneezing? Is this normal? Thanks. And I still see them itching after I put the frontline on. I just want this problem finished. I HATE fleas and tape worms.

For the fleas, get some Comfortis from the vet (or, if your vet doesn't have it on hand, get him to write a prescription and buy it online). Enough for at least 3 months. It's not cheap ($15-$20 a dose), but lots cheaper than messing with stuff that doesn't work.

For the tapeworms, I have used Tradewinds and it seems to work OK, but it would probably be better to get some Drontal/Droncit (Drontal kills all worms, Droncit only kills tapeworms) from the vet.

You need to treat the house as well as the cats.  This page gives a lot of information about what to use, and not use, and gives the proper names to the active ingredients:

Also either wash their bedding hot (60C) or replace it.

I have no idea if the Tradewinds medication is any good, you need to find out what the active ingredients are and check them on the worming page from the FAB.

Personally I would go with Drontal as it treats all worms, not just tapeworms or roundworms.
