For the past week (maybe less) my female cat Missy's third eyelid has been showing in the corner of her eyes. I noticed it a few days ago but thought it couldn't be anything to serious. I thought maybe it was because she was tiered, relaxed, or has just woken up. But as the days went on I noticed that it was still there. Right now it's only showing a little bit, sometimes more then others. Almost covering half of the eye. I've read a few things online about how it could be stress or an illness. She's only about 2 years old and for the 2 years I've had her she seemed like a pretty healthy cat minus the ear mites she got from living out in the garage at her previous owners. She had to be put out there because the owners wife was allergic. We got her some ear mite medicine and it seemed to work. I haven't taken her to a vet just yet but I'm hoping to bring her on Monday. None of my other 4 adult male cats seem to be having this issue. She still eats her cat food and drinks plenty of water every day, she goes potty daily, her urine looks a healthy color, her poo has a healthy firmness to it, and she still runs around and plays the day away with the other cats. Is it anything too serious? Or will it go away by it's self with in a few more days? I would really love some feedback because I'm starting to get worried.

It's really hard to know whether it's serious or not.  You've obviously done a bit of research and found that it can indicate illness.

My feeling is that if she's had it for nearly a week, I'd be getting her checked out.  Make the appointment and go and give Missy a cuddle in the knowledge that you're doing the best for her...

And welcome to TCS

We'd love to know how she's going.

Hi, welcome to TCS to you and your five kitties! I agree with Mani that it is time for the vet. Considering Missy's history, she may be carrying some parasites, but it could be anything.

Please let us know what happens!

Well, we took her to the vet today and they said that it's probably just an ear infection that can be treated with a couple of drops for a few days. They ran a blood test for Feline Leukemia and it came back negative. So it seems that it's just an ear infection.
