Question about Instinct Beef

I just purchased Instinct's Beef for the first time.  Opened it up, and there are a lot of white flecks all through it, including the top of the can. It just looks really weird.

Opened another one, to make a comparison.  Same thing.

I did have them sitting in the car for a couple of hours and it's rather cold here in NJ.  Could this just be all the fat that has congealed in it?  It's kind of looks flaky, not a layer like I would expect.  Not like any other can of cat food I've ever opened.  I'm not implying anything is wrong with it, but, it did leave me kind of concerned about using it.

Is this the usual texture of it?  The reason I chose the beef is that Casper has been having vomiting issues and the vet understood my desire not to purchase the Hills food from him, and mentioned Instinct as another brand he trusts, which I knew about and read about from many members here as being a good food.  Since we're trying to get to the bottom of the regurgitation, I wanted to try a flavor which he typically does not eat, just in case it's an allergy situation and this morning, he did throw up turkey and all week, was eating a lot of chicken, and throwing up as well.

Oh never mind!

I just found another thread addressing this.  Apparently it is the fat.

Yep, I have fed Instinct many times and it is common for it to look this way.  Seems like I've had another brand look like that, too, but I can't remember what it was now...maybe Natural Balance.

Perhaps.  I get that one also, and there is always a thin layer of fat on top.  But, it actually looks like fat.  The Instinct was kind of pebbly and chalky.  Honestly, unappealing and more like something was wrong with it.
