Have you tried taking an over the counter allergy medicine?  One of my friends is highly allergic to cats.  She takes an allergy med before she comes to my house.  I have three cats and she is able to come and visit me.

I was going to wait a few more weeks just to see if its just a one month miss. If not then I'm going to take one.

You need to take a pregnancy test, and then go to the doctor. A pregnancy test today costs nearly nothing..... Or you can go to a planned parenthood clinic in your area and do it for free if you don't have the money..... But makes no sense just waiting IMHO.

Since getting a brush isn't an option right now I imagine HEPA filters, HEPA vacuums, certain supplements, and other suggestions aren't an option either.  For now, try wiping her gently with a warm, damp washcloth and keeping her indoors(if you don't already).  For the future, try the above suggestions and switching her to a quality food(see Nutrition subforum for great suggestions).  My partner was allergic to cats he had been around in the past but does not experience allergies around our cats.  He had noticed allergies when (the first few weeks maybe?) we first adopted three of our cats.  I would guess it might have something to do with their previous diets.

Also, you can buy pregnancy tests at the dollar store that detect a similar HCG level as more expensive name brand tests.  Otherwise, as suggested, Planned Parenthood is a great option.

Good luck.

A warm wet washcloth as mentioned above is very helpful. Slicker brushes are not very expensive and help as well...maybe bf could pick one up while picking up a pregnancy test?

You need to start taking folate (a B vitamin) right now. Prenatal vitamins will have this already in them. You also need prenatal care immediately. Many preventable OB and fetal problems could be taken care of now.

Good Luck with your test.

My son and husband are extremely allergic to cats. My son was so bad that certain coat types actually caused whelps on his arms after he would pet them. My husband has respitory response to them.

I love my kitties just like family, but my human family always comes first. I was afraid I was going to have to rehome my gang (I have 7 now). I couldn't have my husband and son having allergies and suffering.

My husband went and saw an allergy specialist. The doctor told him he wanted to try allergy injections formulated for my husbands specific type allergies before he recommended we get rid of the cats (Dr. Is cat lover too  :) ) So my husband started the shots we gave them one month to see if there was a difference and there was! My son then started the shots and he no longer gets whelps on his arms and both breathe much better. If you have insurance the shots cost nothing out of your pocket. My son and hubby now go once every 3 weeks for a shot and we all live happily ever after. :)

I don't have insurance and I don't need to take a testi started early this morning and I hate it. My little tabbY wants to run around the house but I can't let her without suppervision. My cramps are so bad I don't want to or cant get up unpess I really have to go to the rr so when I do she gets to have free run of the house. It seems like she knows that I'm in pain so she isn't bugging me about going out of the room unless I go out of the room. She stays near me the whole time.she will be back to normal schedual one geting out of the room tomarrow. I have had so bad that I can't move and I also gett sick so its a health thing and I will let her ut of my sight later today when I fel better
