My cat is constantly bringing in mice and other such small rodents. I do not always know when she brings these in , because she can use the dogdoor , and jump over the fence to hunt whenever she wants. Because of this i cant always discover where she puts the mice, so they just stay wherever for a long time and they STINK. the smell of dead mice is starting to take over the house, and i dont know what to do about it. i have actually seen a mouse get into a vent while running from my cat , now the vents are spewing out nasty smelling dead mouse odor.

IS THERE ANY WAY I CAN SOMEHOW STOP MY CAT FROM BRINGING IN MICE, AND ALSO IS THERE ANY WAY TO GET THAT SMELL OUT?

Oh yeah, it'd be great if i could keep the outdoors available to her, she's outside almost all day and if i can i'd like to let her go outside, i was thinking of maybe a bell or something but i'm not sure...

Hmmmm, I was a little confused on that last issue. Were you debating making her stay in all the time? The first thing is that there's no way to stop her from hunting. They bring them back to you so you can be proud of what a great hunter they are. As for helping to eliminate her hunting, you can consider builing an enclosure for her off the house so she can still go out, but not have the selection of rodents to bring in. To get the smell out you need to find the mice and dispose of them if possible. Once they are completly decomposed the smell will dissapear. If you find them you can use an odor neutralizer where you found them. The other way to get rid of odors throughout the house is to invest in a good ionizer. It gets rid of just about any odor.
