Hi, i'm johnny and my cat's name is Zvrkić :D and we're from Croatia.
I found him last april when he was just a baby, right after my 15yr old cat died.
He's like a little dog, follows me everywhere, he's cute & very kind.

Love your forum guys. Later

Hi Jonny and Zvrkic and welcome!

How do you pronounce Zvrkic?  I know not even you try to break your tongue saying it.   :)

I was in Croatia once and myself saw the busses to Trieste had Trst written on them.  So they wrote Trst but sayed Trieste, like the italians too did.   I presume the last ´c  is a c-sound, it is NOT a k-sound.

Please, if occasion arises tell us how it is for cats in Croatia...

Welcome again!

Hi & thank you! It's hard to explain, it's actually Zvrkić. I guess you don't have "ć" "č" "š" "đ" and so on (:

Hallo Johnny and welcome. I know how difficult it can be to pronounce Croat words and names for English speakers as I used to live in Sarajevo and had to explain Bosnian names to people. One of my cats, who came with me when I moved to France 6 years ago, is called Dushka ( I had to change the spelling so people could pronounce it) which of course means 'little female ghost' or spirit in Bosnian and I think Croatian. She is the image of your Zvrkic except she has a black mark on her nose as well. I guess Zvrkic would be spelled something like 'Zeverkich' , running the first two syllables together fast. Does it have a meaning - I do not know the word.

Croatia is a very beautiful country - I have visited it many times, both the coast and inland. I think Split is my favourite city, and I also love the islands, especially Hvar with all its lavender.

Hi, Johnny!  Welcome to TCS  Your cat is beautiful.  He had surgery, before the first picture with the bunny ears?  It's wonderful to meet someone from Croatia.

This little bugger is alive & well but he's not with me anymore. Me & my wife separated and i moved to another city back in july. Cat stayed with her & i left with the dog.
Life is unpredictable (:
