Home needed for friendly stray URGENT!!!

Basically I found out on this art site I joined that a member is trying to find a new home for a stray cat outside of her home ASAP!

Here's the journal that was posted:

This is our Garage Cat Stray. We need to find her a new home ASAP. She's a friendly cat but she likes to do the 'rub up against ankles' things on my mother, who is at risk of falling and getting hurt. Unfortunately it's gotten to the point that it's just too dangerous for my mother to keep her around. I do not want to take her to animal control. They won't be able to give her much of a chance and the local humane society won't take her. I've tried multiple times. If you are in the south east georgia, or north east florida area and would like a friendly female cat (we don't know if she's been fixed or not) or know some one who'd like to give her a forever home, please send me a note and I can drive her out to you if it isn't too far or meet you half way.

I asked her if it was possible to get an outdoor enclosure or try to get a rescue to help advertise and she said this:

Nope don't have anything, not spending several hundred for a stray we can't and don't want to keep. I'll see about the rescue listing but I fear there isn't time for that.

I don't know what that is supposed to mean, but it worries me very much....

Look up on the Internet rescue organizations , some will come to you to pick up the cat, I know also that u
some dog rescues will take in an emergency cat. Also, call a local vet and ask for rescue organizations. When you call even if that one cannot take her they usually know of lots of other resources that may not be listed. Good luck, she is very beautiful.

I agree with Three Cat Night, also if a local group can't take her they may do a courtesy posting on the internet for you through their group, and/or give you some advice.
