Party? Munchies? Anybody watching?

We're having friends in for Super Bowl Sunday. Rick wants me to make barbecue for sandwiches and I'm also doing Louisville Wings (it's with a bourbon sauce) and potato salad. My sister is bringing mac and cheese and two cases of beer. One GF is bringing a layered vegetable salad. Another GF said she'd bring a Texas sheet cake or Mississippi mud cake (anything with chocolate!). One of my sister's GFs said she'd bring a fruit-cheese tray Lots of chips and some dips and such. I'm supplying the margaritas for those of us who don't like beer. I'm not sure what else will be offered....I think there will be ten or twelve of us

What are you doing?

I'm not doing it for the game.....I'm doing it for the food!

No plans that I know of. Last year we went to one of the BF's friends house. Since its this Sunday, we haven't even talked about any plans for it! It's been a craptastic week thus far.

No plans - neither of us are big fooball fans. The food would be the best part for us!

It is always a good excuse to eat junk food even though this year we are not to keen on watching the actual game. More interested in the commercials. :lol3: Being new to Indiana we found out last Sunday that the state is dry on Sundays, no alcohol sold anywhere. A new friend told me that just over the border to Illinois is a liquor store and that store usually has a line out the door on Superbowl Sunday. :lol2: Why don't those people plan ahead?? Buy your liquor on Saturday. :doh3:

Have fun, Pam. Sounds like a lot of fun at your place Sunday and it is all about the food for us too. :yummy:

Just DH & I. I'll make something finger-foodish for us.  So far, all I've planned is twice-baked cheddar-bacon baked potatoes, with sour cream & chives. I saw a recipe for baguettes of French bread, with mushrooms and something or another on top--crostini???

DH and I are HUGE football fans and very disappointed that the Seahawks didn't make it to the Super Bowl. Next year!! We get into our football so much that being at a party or going to a sports bar is very distracting for us, we've morphed into football hermits..lol! That said, I have spicey wings planned, Ham, cream cheese, & pickle roll-ups and deviled eggs. Ummm..Go 49ers!!!!!!!! Next year, fear the SeaHawks!

Rick would have loved it if the Seahawks would have made it to the Super Bowl! He's a big Seahawks fan!

As it is, it's just another football game this year. But he'll watch, make no mistake about that....he will watch. It's still football.

Under the cats, mostly.
DH and I have plans to get in the nibblies (I can forget the diet for one night) and splurge on the sofa. Over here the Superbowl starts at 10pm, so it's going to be a late night for us. Still, I don't mind - TOTALLY peeved the Saints didn't even make the playoffs, (Black and gold, baby!) but hey, you can't have it all. As far as I'm concerned, it's a great excuse to haul out the booze, the bubbles, the bacon and the chocolate! I'm planning on making bacon sandwiches. Nothing fancy ;)

The two of us are total football hounds - I'm a huge Saints fan and Rune is a huge Vikings fan (It made for an interesting Superbowl in 2010!) I'd LOOOOOOOVE to get to a proper football game in the States some time.
