I caught it from taking care of our daughter, who got it from school. Seems everyone has it or had it over Christmas, friends, co-workers and their spouses, even the plumber who was supposed to come by called me because he was sick. Seems my husband was the only one who didn't get it... I was laid up in bed for EIGHT days, with high fever and extreme light sensitivity. What's the good of being sick when you can't even watch TV or play video games???

Have you had the flu this year, or know someone who has?

My husband and I both got the flu shot.  One year we didn't and it turned into bronchitis for both of us.  Never so sick in my life.

I will never go without it again.

No flu yet this year, though I have had colds. all of my coworkers who work in the same room as me has had the nasty strain of flu that's going around.

I wasn't allowed to get a flu shot due to my thyroid cancer and treatments and such. I am trying to stay healthy!!!

I got the flu and strep throat together when I was 16. Only time I've had either illness.

This is when recorded books come into their own.. I've had something similar and a friend picked me up a whole bunch from the library.  Now I'm hooked!

Haven't had it this year...yet, but I've had the flu at least once (I think in 2007). It knocks the stuffing out of you!  Despite that, the Norwalk stomach vorus I had last month actually made me feel worse than the flu.  I was very weak; more than I ever had been.  At least with the flu, I could periodically get up and do some housework, laundry, etc.

I did have a minor cold at New Year's.

I've known a lot of people that have had the flu this year. I have escaped it so far. I did have an upper respiratory thing which lasted a couple of weeks.

Fighting it right now, getting my butt kicked by it. Boy, had been a while since I was so sick- not fun.

I've had some minor bugs and such.....a nasty cold that started before Thanksgiving and left me coughing til the beginning of January. I seem to be having more stomach issues than anything else the past few months; we are attributing some of that to stress, more than anything. But no flu.....*knock on wood*

I got it last year despite having had a flu shot and am hoping it'll pass me by this year. We've got both the flu and a Norovirus going around here.

I did get the flu shot for the first time last Fall. I have been battling a very bad cold/sore throat for the last ten days. Finally, today I feel much better. I have to wonder if I didn't get that flu shot if it would have been worse. SO I really didn't get the flu, just a bad cold.

I had the flu in October. I caught it 2 days before I was due to get my flu shot. Once my fever broke I went and had the shot.

Practically everyone I work with has had the flu since around Christmas. One of the doctors was very ill from it and was in the hospital ICU for a few days. And he is healthy in his 30's.

If you haven't had your flu shot, I recommend you go and get it. This year it is still not too late to get the shot.  Some very bad influenza viruses going around right now.
