Our seven month old fixed kitten Archie has been having some problems...

When we brought him home at nine weeks old from the Humane Society, he was perfectly litterbox trained. He never had an accident. It was about a month or two later that he started peeing outside of the box. He still poops in the box, but he likes to pee on blankets, or towels, soft things left on the floor. More recently he peed on my roommate's bad, and soon after on mine. However, his peeing troubles actually started not with laundry, but in plastic grocery bags. He still does that. He crawls into them and just pees. He will also do this with hats, if they are left laying around.

We have one other cat, my two year old spayed female, Lucy. They get along just fine, and Lucy has no problems with the litterbox.

Archie's urine contains no blood, and he doesn't seem to start and stop, so I'm not sure if it may be a UTI. He doesn't pee in the same places over and over again, just where ever he can find, so I'm not sure if it's behavioral either.

Any suggestions or ideas as to what may be going on and how it help him?

Hi there and welcome to TCS. It sounds like Archie might have a urinary tract infection. They are painful and sometimes the cat associates the litterbox with causing the pain so they look for somewhere soft and comfortable to pee. I would take him to the vet as soon as you can.

Good luck, I hope he's feeling better soon.

I totally agree.  Think he's trying to tell you that something is not quite right in the urinary tract department.

for the little guy.
