I got a Kobo Touch eReader this past summer and am so in love with it.

http://www.kobobooks.com/touch/

I had resisted for years getting one because I so love everything about having an actual book in my hand from the smell of the paper and ink to the feel of the paper.

But now I can't imagine live without my Kobo. When I leave the house it's always in my purse and I have dozens of books on it so I'm never without something to read when I have a few minutes to sit.

What kind of eReader do you have?

I got a Kindle fire for Christmas and I love it. I was also feeling like I wouldn't enjoy it as much as a real book but I do. I love that I can go online wih it too. The best thing is that it saves space, my bookcases are full. It's so easy to find a title and you are reading instantly.

I got a Kindle Fire last year for my birthday.  I can get on the internet via Wifi.  It was between that or an iPad.  I wanted a Kindle b/c 1) it's cheaper, 2) we have 2 desktops, a laptop (dh has a work one) and we all have phones and the kids have iPods.  I couldn't see spending the money for it.

Didn't think I'd like it at first, I was one of those people "I'm NOT giving up a real book".  I have to admit, it is nice.  I've got tons of free books that I've downloaded, and if I'd bought all of those books, I'd have no place to store them.

When they came out with the Fire HD this year, I was kind of interested.  Dh has seen my Kindle and said he'd take my Kindle if I wanted to upgrade.  But- it came down to I didn't want to spend the money for it.  Not when I'm still unemployed and we have tuition bills

We are a Kindle house here.  DH and I both have Kindles and I also have a kindle fire.  I use it A LOT.  I also never thought I'd prefer my kindle over a paperback; but once I saw one in person I was convinced!  And now I'm hooked on the quick purchase ability.  Buy, read.  Nice and simple. We've been using skype on the kindle fire too.  It's nice talking to family that lives out of the area.

I have a Kindle but will probably never use it. There is just something about curling up with a book and turning pages

I've had an International Kindle II (with a keyboard and 3G) since they came out and use it every day. It's got around 500 books on it now. The battery is starting to get weaker, and when it goes I'll probably replace the whole thing with a Kindle Paperwhite 3G.

I have a Nook Color.  I specifically got it so that I could phase out all my magazine subscriptions, saving paper and postage and all.  And I can take it in the truck and have plenty to read whenever I want.

The Nook can be "rooted" to turn it into an Android tablet, if you want to.

I have a Nook, just the regular black and white.  It's perfect for me because all I want to do on it is read, and not all of the other stuff you can do on the tables.

Nook Tablet.....I splurged on the extra storage card, too, so I have tons of space.

You know, I don't really use it to get online or anything....sometimes, but it's rare. I mainly use it for reading. I thought I'd never get used to the Nook, but it's amazing how fast it grew on me.

Mike, I don't understand technical jargon and how to do some things. How do you "Root" a Nook?

The original Nook Color was "crippled" by its B & N software. It actually had all hardware to be a tablet, but the software restricts you to the proprietary app store, disables bluetooth, etc. But due to the interesting way it starts up, checking the external card before the internal hardware, it made it very easy to use that external card to reprogram the internal software to be a generic android tablet. You could even use the sd card as an external boot, use the tablet as an android tablet with the newest software, then turn it off, remove the sd card, and it would boot from the internal software normally, just like new.

See, now I would have never been able to figure that out! It's amazing what people will do.

I got a Kindle Fire a couple of years ago. I too thought I wouldn't use it much since I am such a "paper" person, but I love it! I download free books all the time, and love that I can get on the Internet too! I also love the lighted screen, that way I don't bother my husband, especially when we travel. Now I wonder how I got along without it.

Well, I hadn't done it before, but I went to N2A Cards and bought a download of the image for an SD boot card.  It took a couple of hours to get it all installed, but now it will boot up as an Android tablet, or I can boot it into the original B&N software/hardware.  The Nook app from the Google Play Store seems to work just fine reading magazines, etc.  I don't know that I need it, but it's fun having it.  And you can find new/refurbished Nook Color readers for $140 almost all the time.  The SD card download cost $20.

I just checked ebay.  Nook Color readers are going for as little as $30 used, $113 new.
