As some of you know I do 3D graphic art and frequent several art related websites.  The other day I answered an ad for someone to do voice overs for a cartoon. I submitted a sample of my voice, as well as some previous experience (junior high!  LOL), and I was accepted!

Not sure when it starts. No pay for now, just credits.  But in time if it gets picked up commercially, then I'll get paid.

Fun! Fun! Fun!

Congratulations! Sounds like a great opportunity to become known and make some contacts.

Good for you, hon!  Do you know what cartoon it will be?  Anything I might watch?

I don't know for sure.  He did say that he would be uploading them to YouTube. I guess that is the in thing to do to get noticed.

When I know more I'll let everyone know.

Cool!

How do you get started in that?  My son has done some voice overs for a Microsoft Excel class for people that English is not their native language.  He would love to get involved in something like cartoon or video game work.

To be honest I have no clue. I have no professional experience. I just happened on an ad to a private guy looking for someone to do some voice overs for him. He's not affiliated with any company.

I heard a comedian the other day telling about getting a computer.  He started having some trouble with it, so he went to the company's web site and looked at some videos of how to solve the problem.  He suddenly realized that it was HIS VOICE on the video!  He had done the voice-overs a while back, and had forgotten about it.

I hope it is fun.

I found out more information the other day. It isn't a cartoon.  They will be short films from what I understand.  Along the lines of Lord of the Rings type movies (I think).  Anyway, he's given me an idea of my first assignment. A one time character. She is a Barbarian midwife. I have no idea what I'm going to do with that.  he said he would have the script to me sometime this week.

In the meantime I'm going to have to watch Conan the Barbarian or something similar to find out what a Barbarian woman sounds like!  LOL
