I'll put out 2 bowls of canned and sometimes see 1 cat eat both bowls.

short of standing there to police it, how can I get them to share food equally?

anyone have any tips?

Not really much you can do other than feed them separately or police the bowls. You can take the bowls away after they're done with them so the one cat doesn't get fat, but not much else can be done, unless you want to make a special feeding station with an electronic cat door and everything.

feed both approx 5 feet from each other and stand in the middle of the 5 feet line if the cat tries to pass you stop him/her and put him/her back at his/her plat if not done with the food if he/she is done with the food put him/her in a room with the door shut tell the other cat is done eating I do these when i feed my cats and no cat yet had there plat stolen :p goodluck

You can separate them during feeding times and feed them in separate rooms.

I did have that problem after I brought the third cat into the house. I don't allow thievery. It took about 3 weeks but I policed the bowls. Their bowls are in separate areas of the kitchen so I could stand in the middle of the kitchen and keep order. If one strayed to the others bowl, I just picked them up and took them back to their own bowl. I'll admit, this took the patience of a Saint but I managed to pull it off by doing it this way. Now none of them seem interested in straying to the others bowls. I'll be interested in seeing other suggestions you'll get.
