 Hi everyone,

I am new here, and a bit nervous in case I do things wrong. My lovely cat is called Lottie,I have had cats most of my life,a house isnt a home without a cat.I found this website last night, whilst I was looking to see if anyone had any ideas why my cat changed from being a lovable little baby always on my knee or even face,to now wont let me stroke her ,and certainly wont come on my knee.Lottie is 3yrs of age, I bought her from an advert on the internet, she looked so adorable, when we got to the house, the lady said her mother was a british shorthair so she was a cross  persian, and she had taken the mother in untill she had the kittens, as the owner was moving and the mother had since gone back home. Lotties brothers and sisters were there,so were others, all of about the same age, which I realised later was a bit sus,but I am a trusting person,This lady also said she had worked with a vet and knew everthing about cats and was heavily into alternative meds.

When I took her to the vets shortly after she had mites in her ears and black coming out of her nose, this was sorted, I purchased insurance, and a couple of weeks later she had diahorea,so back to the vets again, upon giving her a good overhaul, they said she had a very bad heart murmur, and said see what happens in 6 months,I was worried about her op at 6months with her heart,so  they took extra precausions, but after the op they had been so worried about her heart as the heart beat had been so loud they coudlnt hear anything, A scan was arranged and yes it is still 5/6 murmur, however said no medication was needed. However because the vets discovered the murmur a few hours before the insurance came into effect, she isnt covered. the most important thing is Lottie.

I think  maybe this is too long so I am sorry,if you need to cut it down ,please do.

Kind regards Zan

Welcome to TCS.  Sorry it's for an unfortunate reason.

Cats' personalities do change over time in reaction to what they experience.  Our Punkin was a lap cat when we brought him home, but I remember distinctly the last time he got in my lap.  Won't do it at all, anymore.  But he DOES love attention.  He would take pets and scritches until your hand falls off.

When I brought Ella (our Katrina survivor cat) home, she was fairly standoffish.  Now she loves attention and will cuddle up to anyone sitting on the couch.

Thank you, I may just have to accept the fact that she has changed,I worried that I was doing something that upset her, however she may have something to moan about now,as she has had her meals cut down as she is so heavy.  thank you Zan
