Yeah he came running up the front steps and went to the food I left out, but it was frozen solid, omg poor cat.

So I grabbed my robe and ran down and unlocked the door and receive quite a shock of my own, 10 degrees  and just in a robe, YOWLLLLL, LOL.

But I was so glad to see him, I really missed him. Oh wow I have such a ton of info you folks got to me, the forum and all you people are wonderful. you are so helpful.

I think I'll make it ok with getting Binky his needs, and it helps me forget about my problems. Thanks so much for asking, I'm sorry I babble to much, this is all new to me and i get excited.

Thank you for making things clearer. I am so glad he has returned - there is nothing worse than not knowing what has happened. And the freezing weather makes it worse. It looks like Binky has decided he is your cat, he belongs with you, and that is that. AND like all of us, when a cat has chosen us, ahd shown they love us, we will go to the ends of the earth to do whatever is necessary for their health and comfort. You have already proven you are a great cat parent, I really hope you manage to pull everything together for you and Binky in the future. I wish I had more practical advice, but you have already been given some useful links etc by other members.

:yeah:

And I'm SO glad he's back safe and now warm and full of food, and getting his loves!

And PLEASE don't worry about the "babbling" - you are in the RIGHT place for people who understand all the crazy emotions and fears we go through - ESPECIALLY when a kitty we've come to love goes missing. :rub:

I'm so glad you've been adopted, sounds like you two have a lot to give each other. :) I do hope you'll find a place that will provide the neutering at the right price! That will certainly cut down on his wandering and his desire to go out.

Thank yo very much for the kind words, Sometimes words alone gives a person a boost or lift and you made me feel like I'm moving in the right direction. Cats don't understand that they'll freeze to death or get tortured by kids or people take in cats by the dozens and the home becomes full of disease etc...So its up to me to make sure he doesn't get harmed. like I said before, he is great company and makes me smile when I wake up and just look at that funny face of his. and the funny things he does etc.. Today I was given $30 by my mother to get some food for both Binky and I, I got a loaf of bread for me and Tidy cat litter, Purina premium complete dry food and 24 cans of Turkey, Chicken and Beef cat food. I want to make sure he has different flavors, no fish ( he  hates fishy stuff) and I as happy as if I shopped for myself, lol

I caught him putting his Paws over his eyes, I was laying in bed typing on the PC, I'm to the right of him.  Anyhow I found a place that is popular that does the Neutering for $25 and its regularly $50-$100 . The $25 is only for people who is under a certain annual income and the shot for me would cost $5 and $10, the "Chip" is $20. Now I can squeeze that in. I'm going to look around another week, I may find another package deal etc...

please keep us updated as to how you make out with the clinics.
Oh wow I have found so many , just as I just wrote I found one that goes buy a certain income and on SSA Disability you dont get much, and they only charge you have prie for everything pretty much, so you guys are really so wonderful with all your knowledge and help. I kept saying to myself when Binky was missing, that 'fine if he doesn't ome back , I won't have no problems, he probably didn't like me anyway.  I just give his stuff away to another cat that appreciates it" I was being a baby and bitter, I didn't even talk to my mother long, told her I had a headache, I didn't want to be bothered. Then When I seen him come up them steps on the video camera, I jumped into that robe, slipper and headed down the step so fast, I ignored my back pain, my headache vanished and I must have pet him and scratched him for 15 minutes non-stop. He made me so happy I was like a little kid who got a kitty for his birthday, WHAT HAS HAPPENED TO ME, I'M SUPPOSED TO BE MARRIED WITH CHILDREN AND BE USING MY COLLEGE DEGREES, 2 CAR GARAGE, WHITE PICKET FENCE, lol who cares I'm happy

Well, life happens. :hugs: And then a kitty adopts you, and life changes. :flail: And being a "baby" and "bitter" is just a defense mechanism. :heart2:

I have indoor pet cats (all feral rescues), and care for a feral colony (currently 11 cats). We've discussed it many times - I worry far more about the outdoor kitties than the indoor cats. Five of the ferals are pretty tame, and love to be petted. And when I don't see one of the regulars at a meal - or for a day - I worry! Our Baloo, who was here every day, every meal, disappeared this Spring for a month. I was beside myself with worry. But he came back! Don't know where he went... he was skinny when he returned, but in good health. :dk:

No one knows the mind of a cat! And their mystery is part of the attraction - and also, I think, part of why it does feel so special to be loved by a cat. :lol3: :heart2:

I can only share one phrase that guides me that I think is a good one.

Emotions are our greatest ally and enemy.

While our emotions are really good giving strength in helping cats, they can also deceive reasoning and thinking so that we easily make bad judgement in rush of emotion.

This relates strongly to thing where not everything always is what is first appears to be, quite often it is our deceiving emotions that cause us to see wrongly first and then as emotions are settled we can think clearly and see how things really are.

It is like fire which is great slave, but poor master.

I love the picture of Binky trying to sleep! My Bonaparte does that - he is a huge grey cat who likes to sleep on my bed and if I read too late he looks at me, curls up and puts his paws over his eyes like that. Good luck with finding the right clinic, it sounds like you are getting well organised for sharing your life.

Wow, you really have your hands full. I notified my mother that she is a a proud care giver to strays and ferals, lol. About 6 years ago I was living there while going to college. ( I came and went since I was 18 years old) But my Nephew who was 10-12 at the time my sister and mother, would chase the cats away, my nephew would throw things at a cat going through the yard and I would scold him for being a bully on a defenseless animal. I said " you have your mother who spoils you and buys you nice beds, blankets, games, etc... and those cats live everyday like its their last, because of people like you and cars, poisins, traps cruelty and everything else" My nephew got pretty up set and ran to his mother, and I said "yeah who is that poor cat going to run to when a mean kid hits it with a rock?" Oh I was so mad. Well my sister/his mother got mad at me and didn;t like the way I scolded him. So right outside the window in the room the mother and son spent time. I put all kinda food out for these kittens and in 15 minutes the kittens and their mother slowly started to eat, my nephew wanted to bang on the window so bad but I was in the room watching them with my mother.

well I bought a house a year later and my sister has heavy duty boxes with rugs inside and blankets with heavy towel pieces to block the door way from wind. She has built 15 boxes since. My mother ask her if they need more cat food every week when she goes shopping.there are 15-20, maybe more that eat, some stay, some are friendly, some are loners and the have names for all of them and can point out the name of each one. The ironic part is my nephew  (19 now) built frames and made several insulated boxes.

These people were shooing them away and in a years time from me leaving, they were now taking care and protecting all the cat and turned them into cat lovers.

I Believe that cat have a natural ability to capiviate people and win them over. They have a prison in California , where the inmates train and take care of kttens until they are a year or so old. and they run around the compound freely and the prisoners actually go from hard core guys to soft spoken men.. its amazing

I know one thing My patience has gotten a lot better. Binky Doesn't know what he is doing, he does things by instinct. He'll go out and freeze and and hours later want to go

back out not understanding its still freezing out side. lol plus yelling and screaming at an animal or hitting it, is just a person enjoying themselves. I can't see any normal person abusing any living thing, it is just plain bullying, and mental issues.

Cats are indeed great teachers of patience, they are indeed full of emotion, as their actions are driven completely by their feelings, even sometimes they are rather clever in getting one's attention :)

I did read long time ago that cat has bit different memory than humans, it is very short lived for most of the time, also they forget in 12 hours completely things, but repeated events gets stored to more permanent memory if event has enough significance, like getting food or scary thing, so it can be that they have no any memory of outside being cold.

Mine tend to want back to -30C temperature staircase few minutes after they found out it was too cold to stay more than few seconds, my memory is broken, but it would be horrible to have memory of cat :p

I think that there comes time for every pet owner when owner is overwhelmed by things around him so that he yells at pet, feeling really bad afterwards, it is just human to fail in such way as sometimes in life there is just too much and our emotion takes over. It can be hard to believe being able to do so, but it has happened to most.

Then there are of course persons that have more issues within themselves than they can handle, that are trying to feel better by abusing those incapable of defending themselves, but such persons should not have a pet until they learn to handle themselves and get those issues fixed, yelling or beating an animal on purpose is certainly something that should be sign that something is not perfectly ok in such person.

But I often read from newspaper from such things, also I see how they are given ban of keeping pets, but ban is hardly controlled and person is not guided to receive treatment, so quite often worst ones coming to surface are again in the news some years later, which is sad in many levels.

Here I had issue with one organization, or more of I thought I had an issue, there was large campaign of neutering where organization did pay part of the cost, I called them and everything was ok
Then when time of paying came all of sudden I was not qualified, of course I was very pissed, but I put my pissed emotion to side and worked on subject with facts that I had. Reason of problem was that I did not live in correct area, I had mentioned where I live when I did call them, but as I did say so on beginning of call person on other end did not register that information as it was at greeting phase of discussion and that is often where people do routine of greeting which in customer service happens constantly so it gets easily ignored.

Then location did not come up during the call.

Surely they could of done better job, but surely I could of done better too, at the end I had to pay more than I could of afforded, also I was not happy with it at all, but it was not them trying to rip me off or being evil, it was just failure at communication at the end. It was then 6 months of poor eating with constant hunger until had paid it all, but I learned that better make sure there are no communications issue, even everything seems to be clear.
