When I found my stray cat, I called up the Humane society, I explained my situation and would be able to adopt it  only

if I had help. I even told them there was not a way for me to bring the cat to them so they had to come get him.

So I sent 28 emails and 22 calls and spoke to one man who said he would have help for me for the neutering, shots and everything else the Humane Society does for strays.

So no call and earlier that week some ignorant woman called and said she was sorry, but I will get no help, help is only for abandon,stray/ feral cats. So they are playing games, stalling etc...

Well I'm somewhat witty myself, I am disabled and on disability, living alone etc, so I call them tell them I found a stray cat on my porch andthey need to come pick it up, see that phone line you get real people.  They come get him, take him down and if no one picks him up to give me a call I may reconsider and adopt him. See they have a income level that if you are below you can get an animal for free depending on what etc... then the pay for all the shots, neutering and I'll take him back. I'm not his legal owner so he will always be a stray to them. This was told to me by a former employee and they do it quite frequently so she says. don't know if its true or not but either way , they would rather give it away to me than kill him, they receive more funding this way.

They think I am lying and trying to get over on them.  oh well its a shame but my takes were doubled, my water heater, broke, and credit cards I have are maxxed out to pay bills.  He'll be better with a family thats more off anyway.  it was fun while it lasted.

I am sorry you are h aving problems, but I am not sure what you are planning to do? Are you giving Binky up? Or are you just trying to get him seen for free? I was a little confused by your wording.

It is a sad fact that the Animal Control (or similar organisations) of most countries will only deal with animals they feel are genuine strays. Here in France, if the owner or carer of an inimal wants to give it up to an official shelter there is a hefty charge made. The shelters are just too full to be able to deal with owner-abandoned animals.

I'm sorry you're having trouble with the Humane Society.  I know your heart was in the right place.

Most humane societies are understaffed and under-budgeted and rely a lot on volunteers.  The budget crises has been made worse with the poor economy, lower donations, etc.

I'll explain what happened, when I found Binky on my porch I called the shelter, they are the  HUMANE SOCIETY , so they feel its inhumane to let an animal starve or freeze to death and if you find a stray animal they will take it to it shelter to give it all its shot and neuter/spay it to cut down on the animal population. So when I called to have them take Binky, they of course tried to talk me into adopting him, and I told them of my situation at the present moment. So they began to ask me where I lived etc... and told me they would get me help and get the cat neutered ASAP. They kept telling me that one male cat can produce very many kittens to several female cats and if I were to keep him they would help me with this stuff and even food. Well I sold my Xmas gift from my entire family, long story, my face is allergic to regular razors, so I am forced to use an electric one. Well I sold a $172.99 that brothers, sisters, aunts, uncle, nieces, nephews, etc... chipped in for like $15 each , well I sold it for $85and shipping to pay for food, litter, litter box, and I needed to get it a rabies shot ASAP and couldn't wait so $40 for that at Banfield plus exam.

So its been a month and they wont return my calls, emails etc...I'm not a pet owner with the allergies, but I felt bad leaving this cat outside in 14 degree weather an starving.

So they basically duped me into taking care of he cat and I had my back against the wall.

See I could have let them take it and then they give it all its shots, neuter it and exam him  and wait for someone to adopt him. If no one adopted him I would have adopted him for $45, which I could afford. But all the shot , exam, neuter, cost a lot when done separately and that I don't have money for. So all in all it was them lying to me and scamming me that made me mad.

Where I live they are all paid county employees, the adopters would be the volunteers which would be me. they just received a $25,460.00 check from donations and receive money from the state, the three local sports teams and are benificiaries to many of the wealthy on the other side of town. They throw events where the bring in high class celebrities and they are at the most epensive hotel in town. the are given bonuses  and parties for Xmas and other holidays, They receive many holidays off with pay including today. They cater to the Rich Breeders for medical treatment and in turn get a cut of the money the breeders sell, but won't admit that. It gets mark down as a donation. So its pretty corrupt and just a business to them.

The just boasted about already having 400 animals adopted since the 1st of the year, 3 weeks , 150'ish animal a week from $40-and up into the $100's.

UPDATE: BEFORE THIS GOES ANY FURTHER IT IS MOST LIKELY SENSELESS TO CONTINUE THIS TOPIC..... SEE BELOW.

Last evening Binky was howling worse than ever, he refused to eat for the last two days, sat at the window and howled and meowed.

I thought he was sick but he would lay down and run to the window constantly. So I thought at least I can let him sit between the door in the closed in front door area where he sat on my tires and stared out the window. Well my last time coming in the house the storm door got jammed with the towel i was using to keep the cold air out andhe pushed through the door last night at 2:00am and has not returned, as I write this I have cameras watching the porch and I'm monitoring the cameras.  I figure someone took him in or he was hit by a truck (heavy trucks, towtrucks etc.. on my street) Every other time he has come back in 2-3 hours, I check the footage from last night-today and he never returned. I'll probably stay up until it is light out to see if he shows up. if not I guess I can consider him gone, hopefully someone took him in, it is 15 degrees and 20 degrees below "0" wind chill he wouldn't survive. I will wait a few weeks  and try to find a kitten. Many breeders will sell their kittens already neutered/ spayed and all shot for $35-$50.

Lots of vibes for Binky's wellbeing!
wooohooo Binky ran up the steps at 11:35pm est and he was so cold and I was so glad to see him I gave him a 5.5 oz can of his favorite Turkey and gravy and he went to town on it. omg I am so glad he came home. I thought he hated me. he wasn't meowing at all just purring a lot. he is laying on the kitchen floor, he ate too fast and is thawing out, lol. I wasn't even sure it was him until he let me pick him up and scratch  him all over, but he wanted to eat. I had seafood catfood and some cheap dry stuff outside, it had frozen up in 3 hours, so I microwaved it and let it cool down again and he put his nose to the air and I knew right away he was the right cat. lol. He kept squinting his eyes looking up at me, I'm wondering where ever he was it was dark. he may have been trapped and just escaped now. He didn't eat like this when I found him the first place, so no one had fed him. He isn't coming up stairs so he could have also been awake all day and night and just went to sleep on the kitchen floor, I check later. I'm so happy he came back. I'm not a pet owner I don't know if I made him mad  or what. I never hit him or yell, just a stern "NO" when needed and I reward him and talk nice to him 100 times more than I "NO" him lol. but thank you all for your positive support

You are not a bad cat daddy at all! :) He's just a cat and cats will do as they please. Including escaping and giving us heartattacks! :p

LOL, I just went down to see what he was up to , he is laying on the bathroom plush rug I got from my mother and it is directly over the furnace in the living room, which is the coziest room in the house besides the bathroom. I felt hi belly and it is warm and he is cleaning himself now. I suspect he was stuck somewhere, I dunno I'm getting that feeling. He seems a bit distracted, ya know that feeling you get when someone nearly hit you by going through a stop sign??

OMG, I kept thinking kids or drug addicts were torturing him, or one of the trucks squished him, or a train or bus, or he got knocked out and froze to death omg. This is why I don't have children, lol.

I worry about defense things and like to make them happy. That explains my 19 relationships with women, but when they didn't get what they wanted they were just plain mean, I didn't worry about those things lol. Binky didn't learn how to max out my credit cards yet, lol. well he is not going out and getting neutered within the next three weeks.

No I can't afford all the shots and stuff, so I already got his rabies shot, next I'm getting him neutered. The rest has to wait , or him and I will be sleeping in a cardboard box. lol
