Well, We had used ugly loveseat sofa and used ugly chair(1970's) they were ruined by the former owner. Then my cats stratched these that we didn't care. Last four months, we had no furnitures!

We have a hard time deciding which furniture we want to order but we have cats who love to sratch these furnitures. I still refuse to ahve my cats to be declawed.

We ended up ordered the http://www.lodgecraft.com/. We will take risks that our cats might like to stratch these. We can always replace the fabric one.

We ordered the one whispering pines loveseat sofa, chair, table..The fabric will be olive one. The wood will be character. They will arrive at our home in december.

Too bad that we don't have a cabin log house but who cares! we will do our best to decorate in the living room that look like cabin log.

I know people will visit and will get puzzled why we have lots of wood furnitures than regular sofa or lazy boy chair etc. Do you think it would be TACKY? I really don't care what others think of that one. I am just curious about you guys.
If anyone of you who are expert in that area of wood furnitures. We are not a fan of arizone decoration or mexico decoration. Know what i mean.. Thanks! If you guys have no clue what to say.. not to worry! that's why i said, silly question in the first plce.

I think they are very pretty!

We have wooden chairs like the ones on that site, they are pretty sturdy and cat-friendly.

Hey those look like great scratching posts with a place for the humans! Tavish and Jude will love them!

OK, Back to serious....those are really nice pieces of furniture.
You could do all kinds of different type of decoration, from rustic mountain type, to American Indian (NOT Southwestern with those stupid coyotes and such
), to just an outdoorsy feel.

You can also go for that earthy, cozy, "hippie" or "artsy" feel. You know, wrought iron, filgree (sp?), candles, dried flowers and the like.

Just a thought...
I'm sure it'll look wonderful whatever you choose!

Very funny.. but who knows!
Tavish still scratch with our thick plants. The thick stems have lots of cuts but pretty in somehow that looks like braids but it wasn't. we all will see! These new furniture that we just ordered may be less noticable than regular sofa. KWIM.

It looks stylish and very practical. As for having wood only rustic furniture, it is not tacky, and in fact it is a definitive style of bringing the outdoors in, I've seen this in several interior mags now, and it looks very nice. You can tastefully accent your rooms without using a Santa Fe or Mexican look. Your furniture isn't restricted to just those styles. Take a look at your newsstand for some ideas. Congrats on the new furniture!

This raises a question (concerning my own fairly new sofa & my new cat who loves to sharpen his claws on it).
Has anyone tried using "Sticky Paws" - (I think that's what they are called). They are adhesive strips for furniture that cats are supposed to hate. Are they worth buying?

I saw the cutest carpeted cat couches at Petco for $50, they are adoreable...their very own couch! My gals are getting one for the family room for Christmas! Sssh!
Don`t tell!

I like the Loveseat you got very much . But the cats will scratch them since it is made out of wood .
Let us know when you have your furniture how your cats will act . I really need some new ones myself , but afraid to buy at this time . So if yours work out with your cats I sure would like to know . Please keep us posted

I think Sticky Paws is worth buying, I have not tried them, but I put sticky double sided tape on my couch and it works great.

Sure I will let you know about it.. I agree about wood! *sigh* I hope if they did, and hope the wood looks OK to me. I ll see! the wood has character that i knew Tavish will like it but Jude? i doubt it.. Jude loves to scratch playpen's fabric screen. You know white screen fabric one. He loves it.. My playpen's screen starts to get more holes all over it.. I need it while my 2 months son use it. It is not over.
