Hi All! Just wanted to post an update on my 3 formally feral Kids, especially for anyone caring for ferals or contemplating it. They now have been in the house for almost 5 months (they’re just shy of 9 months old). No one would ever know that Elwood had ever been a feral. He absolutely has decided this is the gig for him. Yeah, those birds, squirrels & rabbits are nice to look at from the warm window perch but he could do without all those raccoons, hawks & all kinds of the assortment of scary things out there. Jake now not only LOVES to be petted but does his wee kitten cry to be picked up and cuddled. If he doesn’t get cuddled, BEWARE, your feet & legs are the target for wee beastie nips. Fernando, my little girl, is still the scaredy cat hold out. Unbelievably, she actually is now letting me pet her. This is huge! They all sleep with me now that it has gotten colder. I just have to figure out how not to get pinned to the bed!
All in all, this has been a very rewarding experience. It takes loads of patience & LOVE. Having 3 is definitely a challenge with some things since they all have different personalities and preferences ( not to mention all the fur). Jake, Elwood and Fernando are very entertaining, loving and talkative now that they have found their voice.
