I'm freaking out!!! Apparently my cat ate a plastic cupcake wrapper. We have no idea where she got it from. She vomited once yesterday and twice today - in her vomit today there was part of the green cupcake wrapper. She is drinking water and not eating much and I think she pooped earlier today. I'm hoping that she can pass the soft plastic cupcake wrapper. I fed her a few temptation cat treats to see if she can keep the food down and I'm going to try and give her some wet food to help with digestion. She is acting pretty normal just lazy and sleepy but thats how she usually is in the evenings. I know all I can do is wait and keep a close eye on her for now. I dont want anything bad to happen to her but I also dont want to take her to the vet to get a huge bill for them to tell me just to keep an eye on her and make sure she eats and drinks and poops. ARG!!! I dont know what to do.

If possible, stay home tomorrow and see how she is acting.  I would call your vet and explain what happened and set up a temporary placeholder for an appt so you aren't waiting to get in or going to an emergency vet.

Plastic-can-be-toxic-to-kitties,and-possibly-cause-liver-damage,I-already-been-thru-this,she-ate-some-bread,and-the-plastic-wrapper.

You-need-to-take-her-to-the-vet.

They-will-charge-you-an-office-visit.

They-should-do-an-x-ray,to-see-if-its-causing-a-blockage,or-other-things-nmay-be-going-on,that-is-ballpark-$85.

They-should-do-a-CBC-and-Wellness-Blood-Panel,to-see-if-it-has-affected-any-of-her-values,what-they-will-be-looking-at-is-ALT-(liver),normal-is-10-100.That-is-ballpark-$45.

When my cat ate something strange (all the feathers off a feather toy) my vet told me to watch for the following....1.  Not eating,  2.  Vomiting.  If she continues to not eat and vomit I would definitely take her in.  (My guy never showed signs of a problem so he must have passed the feathers.)

not a plastic wrapper but my little tom always goes in the bin for cupcake wrappers, he goes mad for them. i have found him liking them before and i know he ate one more than once, but they were only paper ones, so im guessing he digested them and passed them.

there must be somethig about cake mix?

good luck with yours, hope it all turns out ok
