I don't complain much.. but I did complain about the food at Taco Bell once.. I asked for FRESH nacho bell grande.. when I got it, it was all soggy and terrible. Obviously it wasn't fresh! I sent an email complaint.. less than a day later they called (I didn't pick up, they left a message), they also sent me a coupon for free meal via email.. and again sent me a coupon for another free meal since I didn't call them back to talk about the issue.

they apologized profusely and promised better service. We'll see!

aj..did you have a good outcome..or are you waiting for what is to come with that situation?

draco..fast food seems to have a lot of issues. i'm sure you know that.
totally sucks, since we expect better quality and better customer service.

we would think all companies want returning customers, unfortunately that doesn't show sometimes.

i don't complaint much either...

but i would never let go what happened last week.
it was serious, especially when it involves my elderly family member.

i had to put my Gramma in a long term facility (for those who do not know, that is a nice way of saying nursing home) near my home. she broke her ankle in Feb last yr and is in need of 24/7 care ever since. her caretaker at the time was not allowed to do 24/7 care..and it isn't covered thru the company she was having to use. so i HAD NO CHOICE but to bring her 2 hrs from where her previous home was. i can't afford to drive 4 hrs (both ways) every couple of weeks to see her at a facility up there.

anyway...the place she is in now is a great place. thing is..they moved her into a new room a couple weeks ago and it is to another side of the facility that i am not familiar with the staff. i didn't get to see her for a couple weeks, so i assumed everything was good. well.. one staff member made me so angry with the way she talked to me. her attitude was as if she wasn't taking me seriously. when an elderly woman/man has one functioning kidney and a kidney infect, THAT IS A SERIOUS MATTER. my Gramma is pron to getting them. the staff she has to deal with now acted as if they didn't know.
and of all things...they DID NOT have any water in her room. kidney infection = drink water all day everyday. she knew she was suppose to...but again, the staff acted like they didn't know.

good thing is....when i called to complain the very next day, it was taken care of RIGHT AWAY. that same day they changed her room..so now she has a different CNA, who is very kind and listened to all of what i had to say.

but the lady at the desk is still on my list.

i was also informed that a new head staff member would be joining the facility, very soon, who WILL take to heart all of the complaints and MAKE SURE they are all addressed and implemented.

Not as of yet the person I spoke to was horrified by what I told him he's coming to see me tomorrow morning!

I'm pleased you got it sorted straight away because that's awful!

I complained to WalMart repeatedly about their clerks licking their fingers and then opening the plastic bags. What really finished me was that this one clerk had a nasty, terrible cold. She was snotting and coughing and sneezing and just carrying on. It was ugly. And when she licked her fingers to open the bag, I walked away to the manager. And I didn't pay for anything. Yes, I know she has to work, but I don't want to get sick either. And you had to be there; it was terrible. Despite several complaints to different people in the store, including the manager of the store, nothing was done. I emailed corporate.

Little did I know that they would actually call me. But they did. On a Saturday afternoon yet. We had a long talk; they asked me what store it was, who all I complained to, etc. They told me that would get to the bottom of the situation, that all clerks were supposed to have sponges at each register, all that good stuff.

I don't step foot in WalMart any more than I have to. My GF was in there the other day and when the clerk, opened the bag? She licked her fingers first. Disgusting. I asked my GF if she complained. No.

I've never seen this in any other store....maybe I'm just lucky (or unlucky as the case may be). And I know that those bags are hard to open. I just take the bag and crumple it up a little....opens right up.

I'm pretty outspoken so yeah, I complain. I also speak up/write when someone gives me exceptional service or product. If there's a problem I try to work it out first with the immediate person, but if that doesn't help I ask for the person in charge. I have been known to go home and look up the address of the president/owner/CEO and write him or her (for both good and bad experiences).

I haven't always been happy with the outcome but things that are bad don't change if nobody speaks up.

To get satisfaction when complaining you can't just gripe - you have to specify what you want that would make it better. If your demands are reasonable, the person in charge will usually accommodate you if s/he can. Also, sometimes you have to go through two people to get to the third. Usually the third person on the tier has authority to make it better.

Just saying, I used to work at Taco Bell, and you shouldn't have to specify that it needs to be fresh. They're supposed to make everything to order. :sigh:
