my daughter was taking her melatonin before she went to bed. we can not find it anywhere.

i am worried that it may harm one of my grrlz..if they get a hold of it.

i have heard that some animals get very small doses sometimes. i am just not sure how much too much is. these pills are 3mg.

PLEASE TELL ME MY GRRLZ WILL BE OKAY...if one of em finds it. i'm especially worried about the 8 wk old.

Since it IS used occasionally for calming cats, I think you will be ok.  IF one of them ingested it, what you might see is slight decrease in activity level, but otherwise a one time ingestion should not be cause for alarm.  (and with any luck, it rolled under something and no one actually ate it...we take literally 20 different prescription drugs (which Melatonin is not even considered a drug) here at our house and are constantly dropping one or another, and often freaking out about it, then find them several days later in the strangest places where they have rolled away
)

i am totally hoping the same. sure seems that way.

same here. we have about 8 diff ones that are regularly taken by us humans, daily. i freak when we drop em too. i look for like 10-15 mins before i decide the pill went somewhere to hide out.

I would vacuum with the nozzle part of your vacuum all around the area it could have dropped so you don' t skip over any small place the pill could have rolled to. Cats are so picky with taste- well mine are- that they probably would just sniff it and walk away anyway. Vacuum so you know for sure if it's rolled somewhere that you got rid of it- you will sleep better...I doubt it would roll or bounce so far away that a vacuums suction couldn' t find it!

Good idea. I should have thought to it. Definitely will in the morning.
