What kind of "ink" is safe to use?

My mom's birthday is Tuesday however the little girl that I absolutely adore  and watch often is here for the weekend and will not be here Tuesday. So we are celebrating Mama's birthday tomorrow.

For Mama's birthday I am making her a plaster stone with her cats' (Tinkerbell and Mischief) paw prints. Mischief I got no problem and got the plaster off her paws very easily. However when I finally caught Tinkerbell the plaster was too hard to get her paws imprinted into it. So I'm left with the only other option now, an "inked" stamp of her paw. What could I use for the "ink"? She is an obsessive cleaner.

I don't know if any would be safe, but perhaps something made for young children?
What about wrapping her paw in gladwrap, then pressing it on an inkpad? That might work.

What a child! lol. I walked away from the computer for a minute and she just had to add that in.

I don't know about wrapping her paw. I could try but I'm afraid.
We do call her Spazz for a reason lol

That's a tough one because most of the foods that stain are poisonous to cats. Inks and paints have nasty chemicals and artificial stuff. Keep in mind that "non-toxic" does not mean non-poisonous. Clay or paints for kids are called "non-toxic" only when they are used as intended - and they are NOT intended for ingestion. They are never safe to eat.

I'd use some mud from outside then make a photocopy.
