Question of the Day, Friday January 11

Morning!

You all know by now that I've had some computer issues and had to transfer my programs and work to an external hard drive and then back into a new drive in the computer. While I was doing all this, I decided to do a complete computer cleaning and get rid of work and some of the software that I don't use anymore.

What do you use your computer for the most? Is it pretty much for surfing the web? Do you use Word or Excel often? Are you working on graphics and enjoy graphics programs?

Lately, I've found myself in Word most of the time. I'm working on another cookbook and I use Word for things like that. But, yeah, I'm a web surfer, too, and I like to visit different places online.

My profile is used more for Word (short stories) and Internet use

And Syd's is for Neopets and Animal Jam

My computer is used about 50:50 for work (school) and play (web surfing). I use Open Office programs constantly and both Word and Excel on occasion. Not all of my fellow teachers or students use the latter two, so Open Office is a lot more convenient. I use Paint Shop Pro to make things like avatars or to resize/enhance cat photos, and have just downloaded an old version of Photoshop which I want to play around with.

I surf to my favorite websites daily, also clicking on two that pertain to getting food for the animals just by clicking.  I use Excel more than Word since I have have all my books on Excel that I have read so I don't read the same book twice I bring a copy of the list with me each time I visit the library.  I have quite a few things saved on Word. 

Photobucket is filled with lots of pics and graphics.  I have quite a few different folders there with different types of photos. 

Unfortunately I'm not good at all with making graphics

I became a member of jibjab which is so much fun.  I make video's there using mostly my family and my baseball friends on the baseball websites I go to. 

I also use the computer to order new meds when needed, my Dr. has a website where you can re-order your scripts so no need to call the office.  I like that idea.

Is it pretty much for surfing the web but also the Social nets...:surf:

I have 3 laptops in the house and all of them have a general purpose. The fun one is in the den. I do everything with it. I watch movies on it, play on FB, play in here with it and do a lot of fun graphics on it. The one in the kitchen is an old one I rebuilt. It is used for recipes, web cam get togethers with my cooking groups and I keep a lot of gardening info. The 3rd one is used for work and I also keep all my dog, cat and horse information on it. Do I need this many computers? Nah but it seriously keeps me more organized. I don't use word much but I use quite a few spreadsheets.

I now use the IPad for almost all of my Internet surfing. I use the desktop for just about everything else.
