So I recently made a post explaining how my queen had to be separated from her babies at 9 weeks because she became very ill and had to be put on medicine, the kittens did eat hard food as well as nursed, but I don't think they were fulled weaned. It's been about 48 hours and my cat is still producing breast milk and her breast have become large and full of milk, from what I've read online, this can be bad and lead to another infection, but in her breasts, how can I help her breast milk dry up without her gaining another infection?

Thank you,

Hunters mom.

She is on metronidazole 25mg every 12 hours and she's taking florentero 1cc every 24 hours

Yes she will be full of milk as the kittens would have nursed at minimum for another 3 weeks, with it not being uncommon to nurse for 4-5 months

You need to check her daily for signs of lumps, heat and a rash. She is at risk of getting mastitis
You can hold a cool compress to her several times a day to help ease her discomfort

This is really good advice. Checking her daily is critical. Also, I think as soon as the vet will permit it having her spayed will stop her from lactating and minimize this risk.

Any signs of infection/mastitis and you will want to get her to the vet ASAP. That's not something you want to wait on.
