Hi Everyone,

I have a young (1 1/2 yrs) Persian/Exotic Longhair who has suddenly been suffering from random but extreme bouts of dizziness and disorientation.

He had an inner ear infection that caused the same symptoms as a kitten and they cleared up with no problem with a round or two of medication.

This time around, he's on the same medication (Clavamox and ear drops) but the symptoms keep recurring randomly.  He'll seem almost completely recovered for a few days and then suddenly without warning he'll be stumbling around again even though he's still on the meds.  The vet also mentioned that she saw some minor "white chunks" in his ears but that they could just be do to inflammation.  She recommended that I go back in 5 days.

He's eating and drinking and using his box normally.

I've read everything I can find on feline vestibular disease but information is limited and it seems like there are no cures or information directed at young cats.   I'm wondering if it could be due to a food allergy (he's on royal canin) or some other cause I'm not thinking of.

Please, if anyone has any information or similar experiences, let me know.  I'd be willing to try just about anything to get him healthy again.

Sounds like an inner ear problem that has yet to be resolved. Perhaps something else is involved as well.

I would like to suggest you ask your vet to consult for you with a neurologist and/or a specialist who is highly trained  in dealing with inner ear problems and get you an appointment with someone in your area  who will be able to offer more help.

If your vet is reluctant to help, please find the help you need on your own.
