Sorry your cat is constipated.  How old is she/he?

Cats don't need fruits.  But sometimes they need a little extra help pooping.  You can try adding about a tablespoon of pumpkin (plain cooked pumpkin, not the pumpkin pie kind) to her food to see if that helps.

Also try to get her to drink more water--add water to wet food.

And finally:  if the problem doesn't resolve itself in a day or two, call your vet and let him know what's going on.

Good luck.

It is NOT normal, but is is pretty common.  Especially if you feed kibble.  Kibble is dry, and most cats do not drink enough water, so therefore their stools are very hard and sometimes too hard to pass comfortably.

My Sven had chronic constipation even though he drank lots of water.  He ended up having to have Miralax twice a day, every day in order to live comfortably because he would strain and strain to go until he would make himself sick, and often only one little marble sized poop would come out, poor baby
.  AFter we started him on the Miralax (with our Vet's approval, of course), his entire life changed...for the better

Hopefully with your kitty it is just a one-time thing

You don't say what country you are in - if you add it to your profile it will always be there.  I say that as I live in the UK and have never seen canned pumpkin in the shops and it would be pretty pointless suggesting I buy it.

Above advice all looks sound to me.

+1 with the water recommendation. If you are feeding wet food, mix in some extra water with it.

Another recommendation is something like tonic lax. Not sure where it is available (I'm in Canada). Tonic lax is used for hairball control, but  it also has laxative properties. There are other similar products out there as well.

Ladyifah...If your kitty is eating dry food and your kitty doesn't drink enough water (which most cats don't) than that could be what's causing the hard poops. How old is your kitty?  My cat is a little over 17 years old and that's what I did I fed him only dry food for a very long time. I could see he had hard poops so about a couple of months ago I took him off of the dry food.  I did it gradually, by giving him less and less of dry and more wet canned food, until I just finally pulled the dry food away from him entirely.  Just recently he did not do a poop for about 4 days. I was feeding him only wet food and a raw diet but it wasn't helping him very much since he had very hard poops and so I took him to my vet for that reason and my vet injected some saline fluid and vitamin B complex under his skin and the next day he pooped out a normal poop. It appears that the fluid that was injected under his skin helped to hydrate him and get him to recover from having the hard dry poops. Sometimes it takes a couple of times with fluid injections under the skin, but it will not hurt a kitty to have a vet do this. Of course an exam is very important and only the vet will know for sure what is best for a kitty that has hard poops.  Hope you find the solution for your kitty and he has a normal poop soon.

Hi! Thanks everyone. Well actually like dry food the least. I rarely see her eating them. That is why most of the time we would give her chicken or small fishes that we bought feom the market. They're not dry. Well water? Im not pretty sure about that. I dont really take note. But i did see it sometimes. But im sure my water bowl would be empty after few hours but im nt sure which cat of mine drink the most. I have 3 in total... okay then maybe i would do something to help her. Bcs honestly i thought it was kind of normal until i get replies from you guys thanks so much!
