How low of a temperature is considered potentially dangerous to a cat's health? We're at 8 degrees F tonight and I couldn't help but wonder what would be too cold for an animal to be out in. Does the fur coat help or are they just as
fragile in it as we are?

I am not sure-but I know their ears are sensitive to frostbite. if you are worried about it, it is probably best to bring kitty in.
