This site allows you to observe and "play with" shelter cats through a controllable webcam. If you decide to buy an account (you can play for free for a limited time) all the proceeds go to the shelters to help provide for the cats. This program has also made adoption rates soar at the corresponding shelters. :D

Very interesting (and a clever idea).  I tried playing with the cats at several locations, and none of them were interested. I guess so  many people do it that it's no longer "fun" for them.

Sounds like an interesting concept. I couldn't participate because the site wanted me to download a software program to my computer. Nope. Not doing that.

Hmmm.  I didn't get asked to do that.  I also never download any software to my computer.

If you donate, you can send them new toys to attach to the machines, so they will be more interested, but yea, I think it's hit or miss whether they are up for playing right now. :p

Hmm, yea, there shouldn't be any program to install. Are you sure it wasn't Flash player or something like that, that was out of date? That site is completely safe.

I didn't look at it too closely, but I think it may be a program for a PC that I don't have on my Mac.

Like what??
I know iPhones don't have Flash support, but I don't think that applies to Macs at all. I can't think of anything on the web that doesn't run on a Mac.
