So there is this black cat which keeps on coming into our home, stealing our three cats food and even attacking them for it!
It's strange because it's fat and is pampered so it can't be a stray.
At first (during christmas) we thought it's owners must have gone on holiday or something and we thought it might have just been peckish, but now most people have gone back to work and it's suddennly started trying to get upstairs! (where there is no food)
Why is it doing this and what should we do?

I'm inclined to say to just block up the cat door, but I know that in some places that's just normal and a lot of people don't want to block it. Is he a friendly cat (to humans)? If so, stick a note on some elastic and send him on his way so you know if he belongs to anybody or not. He may have been dumped and doesn't have any other source for food. If he's homeless, perhaps you can keep him or find a nice new home for him.

If he does belong to somebody, make sure he's neutered. If not, ask them to do it, that should calm him considerably. I don't think you can ask them to keep him home if your cats also roam, it's just part of the social contract that cats will do as they do do and there's no doing anything about it :D. Maybe ask them to feed him something tastier so he doesn't want your cats' food.
