Paul started with a cough (and he hardly ever has that). Now I have the cough, sore throat, etc. His dr gave him some antibiotics and clariten and I've been taking the same thing. Also Mucinex. Seems to be a bit better today. We BETTER get over this fast because we leave on our cruise on Sunday, 1/13.

I'm trying to tough it out with, garlic, beef broth, raw onion. Plus I keep a fan on and wrap up in 4 blankets , and of course Amoxicillin. I have a few nice days coming up and I need to instal transmitting antennas, directional ones and high power long range one. I can't afford to fall off any roof, lol. Get Well Soon.

It is cold and flu season.  Practically everyone at work has been sick with one or the other.  I got sick over my vacation in October and a few times over the last week or so I had times where I was sneezing a lot and felt a bit stuffed up, but a couple days later I'm ok again. If I'm going to get sick I'd rather get it over and done with rather than having symptoms for a day or two and than fine and symptoms again for a day or two and then fine again.

I hope you both feel better soon!! It would suck to go on a cruise when you are sick.

I'm glad that we both had our flu shots a couple of months ago. From what I hear, this is a very bad year for flu, so I guess a cough and sore throat are a lot easier to deal with. Better that the flu!

I got the flu 2 days before I was to go for my flu shot in October. I was so sick. It was a version of that H1N1 (not sure what number they are up to on that one).

A way to tell if you have a flu or a cold is that a cold is above the neck and the flu is head and chest including fevers, aches, pains and general extreme tiredness.   Colds are typically stuffy/runny nose, cough, sore or itchy throat, and itchy ears. Sneezing too.  But it's all head stuff.  If it moves to the chest, that's something else entirely.

When I'm feeling like I'm getting something, I use Benylin All-In-One  non-drowsy.  I use a CPAP machine at night when I sleep and I can't afford to have a stuffed nose or I can't use my CPAP machine and have serious sleep apnea where I stop breathing at night.

Lana, you guys should get some Olive Leaf capsules. Olive leaf is GREAT!!  It's anti-viral, anti-bacterial, anti-fungal, anti-parasitic, & work wonders!   Back when I was a buyer at the local co-op, one of my reps told me if you are already fighting something, it's safe to even double up on it. If you have a heath food store close by, or a Whole Foods, you can find it there. They may even have the Perception for Nutritional Healing book (by: Phillis Balch CNC)  there to look it up in. Great book, full of good info!

I'll be back at work tomorrow &  I'd be glad to copy the info from the book I have & scan it, to send to you if you want. Just send me a p.m. by tonight, & let me know.

That will defiantly get you guys feeling better before Sunday!

There's something funky going around here at work, too. One of my co-workers has had this virus thing along with a nasty cough now since way before Thanksgiving...he's finally starting to clear up a bit. I got it right before Thanksgiving and I'm starting to finally stop with the cough. Now my other co-worker has it and I just talked to him....he's taking his third day off work today.

Rick got a flu shot; they're free for him at his work, but we don't get flu shots anymore here and I haven't bothered to get one from the doctor yet. Rick just said last night that he thinks I should bite the bullet and get a shot.

It seems that everybody I talk to is sick with something. Hope you all feel better!

Thanks for the info. Will try to pick it up -- probably better and more effective than the expensive pharmaceuticals!
