(He deserved it)
A young guy and his girlfriend were in my store a little bit ago, and got to discussing cats in houses and eating in houses where there were cats, etc. while they were standing in line for me to check them out. He made the mistake of telling her what he would do to a cat that he found in his house, or on his counters (antifreeze!),
I then dropped the premise that I wasn't paying attention to his conversation and let him have it with both barrels just how lousy of a person I thought he was, what a S. O. B. he was, etc. Nothing vulgar, but I threatened too ! Needless to say, he now knows how I feel about cats, and probably won't be back in (good riddiance !)Sorry guys, just had to get it off my chest, and I knew you all would understand !

Thats one of the "perks" (I guess you could call 'em that) of being part owner--they can't fire me for being rude to the customers !!

Dumba$$....

I call what you did 'educating the idiot', someone ignorant of cats (and pets in general?). Good of you to inform him, maybe it opened up that brain of his.

What sickens me is that this man has killed innocent cats and has no qualms about announcing his evilness.
I sure hope his bad karma bites him in the a#s someday.

Good for you. Some people do not deserve any respect, and ignorant animal abusers are at the top of the list!

Thanks guys, I needed that !It was one of those things that I questioned myself for after I calmed down, ya know? Tamme and Sicycat, we run a shoe store that sells worn, overstocks, catalog return shoes. Mom and Dad started it when I was two, and I'm now 34 and my hubby and I are partners with them.

Good job! People like that need smacking, but since you can't do that, telling them off is the next best thing.
This guy came in to the tattoo shop laughing about having tried to run over a cat in our parking lot. Then he had th misfortune of landing in my s/o's chair for a BIG tattoo. He had to listen to The Stray Cats while getting tattooed mercilessly. He hovered between flop sweats and passing put for about 3 hours, then he got a lecture about animal cruelty, and especially laughing about it. He semed to be a changed man when he left, even apologized, and left a big tip. The tip went to feeding the several ferals the hang around out back. That was before shop kitty.

What is it with "macho" men hating cats?
Is it a testosterone induced thing?

Years ago (I never forgot it) a classmate of my ex husband's (a big time a-hole) once bragged about stepping on his girlfriend's kitten (on purpose). I was so upset . . . it still makes me sick to think about it.

People who are cruel to animals usually have the tendency to hurt other people also. Sick, sick, world we live in.

Funny you should mention the Macho-man thing... you're right, most guys feel cat's are "girly". BUT, I just found out a friend of mine, who's pretty big and "manly" (he's a 6'5" Italian power lifter) is TOTALLY a CAT PERSON!!!

Score one for us!

I completely understand people not wanting to live with and be around cats, but it's completely different when they actually think about wanting to KILL them.. Ugh that woulda p*** me off, too!

LOL to tie two threads together....My hubby is a HUGE cat person. He is into cats so much he wants a tattoo of a kitty. I was cool with it until we were in a tattoo shop (giving my sister her college graduation present
) and he pointed out a tattoo he would consider. Um, not to be politically incorrect here or anything but the word "girly" comes to mind. It was a very cutesy picture of a kitten romping. I've been looking around for something a tad more manly for him, no luck yet.
