I'm looking for some reviews, if possible. (If anybody thinks it belongs in the Tech forums, that's fine. I apologize.)
My work gave me Creative Suite 6 (Dreamweaver, Fireworks, Photoshop, Illustrator, etc) and I'm a novice with these programs. I know raw HTML, but got used to FrontPage. I've taken lessons in Fireworks. I understand a bit about Photoshop.....it's a lot like PSP X in its format. I've not used Illustrator.
My main graphics program is PSP 7 (I have PSP X, but still prefer 7 because of Animation Shop). They don't really think I should be using PSP 7 since I now have CS6. And I'm more than willing to learn these programs; that's not a problem. I love learning new programs.
I was given a project to simply invert colors on a logo this afternoon and, while I got it done and it looks nice, it took me way longer than it should have taken. I was frustrated that I couldn't find the tools I was looking for and couldn't seem to figure out even the simplest things to do.
Does anybody have a good review of any books or manuals that I might be able to buy to help me learn these programs? I talked to my boss and they're willing to pay for them. Or I could even take classes, but I'm thinking books and tutorials might be cheaper in the long run.
Thanks!
