Nutmeg was a beautiful 12-year female dilute calico. When she was healthy, Nutmeg had a lot of feistiness in her that kitties need in order to survive in crowded shelter. While she wasn't our home kitty, she was a shelter kitty where we volunteered weekly to support and grew tremendously fond of. It is unfortunate that we didn't meet her sooner, she had been in the shelter for 5 years after being a home pet for 7 years. Whoever gave her up missed so much of her loving personality. She was diagnosed with FIP not long ago and had to be confined for weeks and lost a lot of weigh and grew weaker by the day, but for a good month, constant caring from volunteers gave her more perk and she even went home with us to convalesce in a more healthy environment. Sadly the vet recommended her condition as too extreme and had to put her down yesterday. We are so saddened by her loss, even though we only know her for a short time, her amazing personality and loving affection will remain with us forever. We are just thankful we gave her the last few days in a home again so she felt loved as a loving house pet once again and had the opportunity to enjoy fresh air, see sunlight, play with toys and relax in a open environment on her last few days. You are in kitty heaven now. RIP Nutmeg. You are in our memories forever.
