We have some with a lot longer than hers. We get them shaved twice a year, helps them and helps the hair shedding in the house!

Bo is female, but we do have a male calico (I'll post his picture). Bo was born in the park with her 2 other sister's and a brother. She lived there almost 2 years before she started taming. On our daily feedings I would try and approach her, but with little luck. One day I managed to get one quick pet in and then each day I would do a little more. She eventually started waiting for the car to pull up. They were having a huge event in the park that weekend and we were afraid she might just go up to anyone so we took her home for the weekend only....YEA RIGHT! She's been there ever since. She's is a wonderful cat. Follows me everywhere, sleeps with me every night, and is a joy to have around. Here she is as a kitten with her siblings (she's the 2nd on the left facing):

You do such good work and it is never-ending. Best of luck with the rest of the ones out in the colony. And thanks for the story you sent! Look for it in a upcoming month here on TCS-

Wow so you had been feeding her for 2 years? How did you get the kitten pics? That's amazing that she sleeps with you now.

Thank you! We named her sister button cause she has a little black circle on her chin, so we figured...button & bow (shortened to Bo).

She is gorgeous! Does she shed a lot? I am wondering because I would love a medium/long hair maybe in the future, but the hairs! The HAIRS!

I always thought that long haired cats shed the same as a short hair its just that they were easier to spot, thus making someone to believe that they shed more.

Or is that just B.S. ?

Actually when the long hairs shed it's in little balls of fur (like dust bunnies). I have more problems with the short stubby hairs laying all over. I vacuumn everyday, plus have a sponge that I wipe the furniture with. We also got Pergo flooring so I use the swiffer and it works great. We have 17 cats in here and when we have guests they say they can't tell we have even one! I am a clean freak though and they do have access to the garage and an outside cat run!
