Today Thai jumped onto my lap, that has never happened before. He will sleep on/next to me in bed, but he has NEVER, EVER jumped onto my lap while I was sitting in my chair. He stayed there for an hour and it was the sweetest  hour ever!! I hope Thai has decided that 2013 is the year he becomes a lap cat!

YAY, lol , Binky always jumps in my lap, walks on my head, leans against me when I fall asleep. watches TV with me until I say "nite nite Binky" and the TV shuts off, then he goes to his favorite spot on the edge of the bed. Then when I fall asleep he takes a midnight walk downstairs and then lies down and leans against me. I could feel the purring.

Bless Thai's heart!!!!
Muffin was never much of a lap kitty as Mom couldn't hold her. So while Muffin slept with her from time to time, she couldn't jump in her lap and Mom couldn't pick her up.

About a month or so after she came to live with us, I was back in the computer room and Muffin was back there. She kept chirping at me so that I'd pick her up, but I was trying to ignore her. And pretty soon, she heaved her butt right in my lap! I was so surprised, but managed to grab her right away. She settled down and she must have been there for about an hour or so.....much to Mollipop's dismay.

And then on New Year's Eve, Rick and I were on the sofa. BooBoo was all stretched out at one end of the sofa and Rick and I were all scrunched up at the other end. Muffin came into the living room, saw us, and walked away. Only to return about a minute or so later, and jump right in our laps. She settled down with us and we put the blanket over her, too, and she went to sleep, purring away. She's really turning into our lap kitty.

I can also hold Muffin in my arms like a baby.....something I could only ever do with Banshee, our Rainbow baby. She likes to be held in my arms and she lets me play with her fluffy belly fur....I love fluffy belly fur! And she just purrs. When she's had enough, she'll jump back down.

Autumn is also a lap kitty but I can't pick her up, that she won't stand for.  She comes to me on her own terms, sound familiar :)  If she is in the bedroom and I sit in the recliner and crank it back, she hears it and comes running.  She loves to sit with me on the recliner while I'm reading or watching TV.  I do have to put that special blankie on me as I do while sitting on the couch.  She is very loving but also a brat.

Tippy is a lap cat also - but with me - not Paul (she still doesn't trust him). Angel adores Paul and could spend her whole life on his lap with her head resting on his stomach. Tony is a lap cat also --- and loves to roll over for a belly rub.

Wow! Thai has decided that he is finally a lap cat. He has curled up every day in my lap since I first posted that. I don't know why the sudden change, but I sure do love it.

Cats DO change over time, suddenly sometimes.  Usually they get cuddlier, but sometimes they go the other way, too.  I remember the last time Punkin voluntarily sat on my lap.  He was there a couple of minutes, got up and chose another place, and hasn't been in my lap again since then.  Funny animals, huh?
