Hello everyone, I am a member of this group since last night and I got a very nice message from Draco this morning and I feel extremely welcomed already! :)

Here is my story and I welcome any advice and tips from all of you.

My husband was out helping his dad and I was just catching up on post Christmas housework when I looked outside and saw a beautiful orange cat tearing and going through my garbage(that I had left out as the next day was garbage day)! Alarmed I knock on the window and he saw me and ran under my car. Five minutes later he came back agaon scavenging! I thought OKAY! I will give him some cat foot. I went outside and he ran again. I know people will say I am cruel for feeding outdoor cats as they should be left on their own. I did put out food. He finished the whole can immediately. I tried to get close slowly and within 5 minutes he let me pet him. How wonderful!!!!! I went back in and then heard on the radio that the weather will dip to minus 14 deg cel. YIKES. I knew I had to let him in. It was so sad to see his paws sticking on the cold ground. I lured him in with treats, and put a blanket down for him and water, more food and left him in my foyer.

I have 1 older white DSH cat. She is spayed, heavy(lol), only eats wet food as she doesn‘t digest kibble anymore. :( I got her online from a lady who lied to me about everything! This cat was not spayed, she said it was, my cat also has serious issues with brooms back then. I didn‘t know that so while sweeping once, this cat got so scared, peed and shivered and was just terrified! Poor thing. The lady did tell me that my cat was left to die once in a box, so maybe was abused with a broom too. Now she is Ok with it. Mind u it took me years to rehabilitate her but she‘s definitely Queen Cat in our house! :D She has a deformed eye too, my vet thought it might be a tumor but checked it found it to be just a deformity.

Now, I had just adopted a kitten from my best friend 2 months ago! Oh what joy! I am het Mommy and she only sleeps in my neck! lol She is a small cat, 4 months old, long haired and the fiestiest kitty in kitten history! She looks like a gremlin now, she‘s a biter and is so goofy! She growls at the new cat non stop. Just a mischievious little monkey. She also knows her name and comes when called. I swear she‘s part dog!

I also have a dog - a German Sheperd/Border Collie mix who was diagnosed with a grade 5 out of 6 heart murmur. He‘s ourgrown it and turned 1 in Oct! :)) My kitten and my dog are best friends and my old cat hates everyone except me. lol

So, with a house full(don‘t forget my 5 rabbits & fishes ;))) this new Cat became mine since yesterday! I took him in to vet to get checked for microchip and none was detected. :( He is long haired, orange and I suspect a Maine Coon cat. We also drove around neighbours to find his owners. No one claimed him. U see I am very shock at how this cat has turned out. He has been in my house since Friday and he poops perfectly in litter box, no spraying, lied. happily on rug all day, lets my kitten smack him, not fighting, doesn‘t steal food, great temperameny with my 7 yr old son. Is this too good to be true? Even people at the vet are so shocked to see such a beautiful, clean cat!

Sorry for writing so long, I can‘t think of a shorter version to this! lol

Welcome to TCS :wavey:

It sounds like you have quite a house full. We'd love to see some pictures of your kitties in the Fur Pictures and Videos Only! forum. We also have a forum for Cats and Other Animals where you can post pictures of all your critters.

Today I sort of shed little crocodile tears and my husband agreed to keep Phineas permanently. I know, I know but what‘s one more mouth right? I did try one more thing, putting flyers up in our local store. So I know now for a fact I have done all I can to find his owners.

I am a little upset when one of my in laws accused me of hoarding cats!! Seriously, wjat an insult. To me they cats are so self sufficient and clean! I am a little OCD myself, swiffering more than I should! lol Should I have not taken him in? Are 3 cats too many?

Three cats is not too many, if you can love them, provide for them, care for them, and protect them.  One cat is too many, if you can't do those thing for it.

I know this is a cat forum but this is the ‘big brother‘ of all the cats. Nothing can ever hurt his precious cats. :)

Oh my goodness. Amidst the love of my new cat, it just hit me with the fact that I have 2 cats to neuter & spay in 2 months! LOL My son starts hockey and my husband will be travelling most of January so wow this is going to be expensive! LOL I must make do without that new pair of leather boots I‘ve been eyeing!! I can‘t believe it though! Such is life I guess! lol I am about 90% sure Phinny is neutered but we‘ll see! :)

Can you spay and neuter sooner? Cats can get pregnant pretty fast!!

Glad they are doing well!!

So, I just got back. Poor Phinny! He was so scared and fought me when I put him in the crate. A gentle boy that he is, he did not leave a scratch on me! :) He did put up a struggle and cried all the way there. :( He even poop from being so scared. I was so embarrased and wanted to make another appointment cause I felt bad for them he‘s so dirty. The ladiess laughed at me and got him cleaned up within minutes. Phew. Then the vet checked him. ...... Drum roll please: are we ready for the results? He is a boy(lol we knew that!), not neutered (getting that done day after his final shots), about 8 months old(awww...poor kitten, but he‘s big for 8 mths) and was definitely someone‘s pet. He had ear mites too. :( All has been taken care of though! :)

So, when we got home I gave him a bath(body only) to make sure he is really clean from the poop earlier. He was fine just trying to snuggle me as I think he was so afraid I will abandoned him. Now he‘s clean, vaccinated, fed and happy! The happiest I would say is my kitten Astro! Hahaha That goofball practically did cartwheels when she saw him. Piko is the Ice Queen indifferent to anything but me. lol

So all is well! :)
