This New Years Eve was no different from the last few years. Once again we did not make it until midnight!!! Barely made it past 11 pm.

Watched SyFy and saw our old Twilight Zone Marathon shows. Those were just classics. Pigged out on chicken wings, pigs in blankets, potato chips. Paul's dr appointment is tomorrow and she probably will yell at him!! Still have shrimp ring that we haven't touched yet -- oh and some apple pie!

Hope everyone had a good New Year - we just really enjoy lounging around at home New Years Eve --- too many crazy peope out on the road.

Hope 2013 is a good and healthy year for all my TCS friends.

Happy New Year!

We watched four movies (Men in Black 3, Abraham Lincoln - Vampire Hunter, the Bourne Legacy, and the Marigold Hotel). Noshed our way through and went to bed around 2:45 this morning.

And, of course, the cats had me up at 4:30, so I didn't get much in the way of sleep last night. (I could take a nap right now, I think.)

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

We had to work so our night didn't start until about 9pm. We went to Applebee's for dinner, since it was the only thing open past 10pm. Came home and watched the Apple drop, toasted into the new year with some champagne and just listened to music, played games, and played with the cats. It was all around a good time!

We still have our shrimp ring leftover too! It will get eaten today though along with some pizza!

I had friends for lunch yesterday. I was tired last night and in bed by 9:45. The new year was in full swing at eight this morning when I got out of bed.:lol3:

We went out to dinner and then friends came over.  It was still a quiet evening as we watched the New Year come in.

Happy New Year to all.

Happy New Year! We had the usual New Year's Eve trying to keep Jamie calm. The fireworks started at 9 p.m. around here and were really bad from 11:45 to 12:30. DH didn't make it till midnight, though he did wake up then because it was so loud. I read and stroked or combed Jamie (and even lay under the coffee table with him when he was really scared).

Happy New Year!!!!

I had a quiet evening. My friend was trying to get me to go out with them to party, but I look forward to spending the evening doing my own thing.

I ordered Chinese food

Had a 1/2 bottle of my favourite white wine

Vegged out on the couch and planned on watching "The Bourne Legacy" and "Men in Black 3", but got caught up in a show called "Hope for Wildlife". A show about a wildlife santuary for injured and rehabilitating wild animals to release back into the wild.  http://www.hopeforwildlife.net/

I actually made it until 1 am! Usually I'm fast asleep by 10 pm!  lol

My New Year's Eve was a real bust!

I had a two-stop load with deliveries in South Houston (Webster, 4 a.m.) and North Houston (Willowbrook, 6 a.m.).  Got to the first stop and had the trailer up to the dock.  They didn't show up until 6:30, weren't done until 7:30.  That put me at a point that it was just barely possible to do the second one and get back home, if everything went right.  But I was alread 4 1/2 hours into rest time, so I took the additional 3 1/2 to make an 8.  That meant my clock had stopped at 3 a.m., so now I had time to deliver the second store and be home by 5 or so.

Just as I was getting ready to go, Dispatch called with a problem.  They had a substitute driver at our Beaumont store without the keys to the pinlock.  They had me deliver my second store, then go to Beaumont, give that driver my empty trailer, take his loaded trailer, and deliver it to the store.  From there I headed back for Dallas.  I called Dispatch to give them my times (my electronic onboard log is not working) and told them I would be in around 10:30.  They then informed me that it was company policy to be shut down by 9 p.m. on New Years Eve.  I pointed out to them I was running late after doing them 2 favors, and I didn't appreciate it.  They said they would check, and got me a special dispensation to drive as late as 10:30.  I got to the Distribution Center at 10 p.m., did the usual post-trip stuff, and got home by 11 p.m.

Good thing I hadn't booked an expensive hotel package, as I had told Dottie I might do.

Men in Black 3 was hilarious, as usual.....I love Will Smith. And Josh Brolin was pretty good, too. Bourne Legacy was quite good; I fell asleep for about ten minutes or so (but I always do that for every movie I ever watch....I don't know why). I always have my head on Rick's lap and when he notices that I've fallen asleep, he'll tap my head and then I'll wake up. He'll give me a brief catch-up and then I keep watching.

(I'm also the one who went to a hockey game, curled up in my chair with my coat over me and fell asleep for about an hour or so. Go figure! It was the last hockey game Rick ever took me to. People were trying to figure out how I not only fell asleep, but slept for so long!)

We spent New Years Eve watching TV, eating calzones from one of the pizza places, and cuddling as the ball dropped. We decided to stay home rather than brave the roads this year, because the only party we knew about was 20+ miles away vs. the 2mi away it was last year, and we knew there's a lot of not-so-sober people on the roads NYE! I kind of liked the quiet relaxing at home night. I certainly didn't feel cruddy the next morning :lol3:

I have no desire to go out in that craziness anymore. It's just to dangerous on the roads. In fact right after midnight, I heard a lot of sirens passing by. (I live close to a hospital, so hear them a lot, but this sounded big!)

I relaxed at home as well. I made my homemade pizza, drank some wine, ate some chocolate, & watched a couple of movies. Watched to ball drop, gave Angel kisses, then got ready for bed!
