Another strange behavior

Hello all. I am back again needing advice on some strange behavior from my cat. Today while I was watching tv, he was on my lap sleeping md being adorable. And all of a sudden he makes these weird movements with his behind and tail. At first I thought he was just situating himself and getting comfortable, but then he turned his butt towards me, clawed my thigh and bit my knee and just stayed there for a long time. He kinda freaked me out. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Sounds like he was playing.

My Wilbur does this. if I sit indian style he will come up, flop down, grab my knee with his front paws and do a rabbit kick to my thigh. usually but not always, he also bites my knee. It hurts, and cuts, and stings, But I love him anyway

Seriously though, sounds like he's just getting affectionate and playing

How old is your kitty?   I once had an elderly cat with painful arthritis that would sometimes suddenly get aggressive if moved the wrong way or a sudden pain got her - she was a sweetheart otherwise.

Another possibility is he had a lively dream of sorts... And reacted to the dream although already waking up...
