My cat Cappie had her first litter of kittens back in August 2012.. we decided to keep one of them. December 22, 2012.. she had a litter of 5 and of course they're still little bitty.. but between pregnancies, I have not been able to get the older kitten to stop nursing!!! Every time I turn around, he is on her and she seems to not be bothered by it!! However, it bothers the crap outta me and my husband because he is WAY too big to be nursing along with the rest of the kittens!! He also eat dry cat food regularly. Please someone, anyone.. give me some helpful tips on how to get the older kitten to stop nursing on Cappie's fun bags!! Spanking him does not work.. and he knows he is doing wrong because when he sees us looking.. he shoots off into a different room. Thank you in advance!!!!!

Welcome to TCS. Even though he is bigger than the others he is still just a baby at 4 months. Normally he would be weaned but if mom is nearby nursing, naturally he will want some of the good stuff. He's not hurting anybody. I think mom will let him know if she wants him to stop.

Try not to get upset about it.

I wouldn't spank a cat for any reason. That will not correct their behaviour. They don't learn that way. It will only make them afraid of you.

Something that might help is feeding him wet cat food. It is much healthier than dry and might help keep him more satisfied and not want as much of mom's milk.

Do you have any pics of the kitties?

He's doing nothing wrong, kittens will often nurse for 6 months or more so long as mum is willing

No need to correct them for it. Never, ever spank a cat that is animal abuse

Hopefully mum is spayed and the kitten neutered by now.
