Hi Everyone:

Sorry for starting a new thread about Colloidal Silver but I didn't want to take over another thread.

I am looking into purchasing this product for my cat but all I can find where I live is Ionic Silver.

Looking on-line they seem to be the same but I can not find any info about using Ionic Silver on cats.

Can someone please reassure me that both products are the same.

Thank You,

Carla

Hi Carla,

I've been working forever on putting together an informational post for those that want to use, or use, colloidal silver. I don't have it finished yet, so in a nutshell:

Both colloidal and ionic silver are safe to use—you do not want silver proteins. Keep in mind that very few Colloidal Silvers are True colloidal silver.

1.    True Colloidal Silver (more expensive, but safest and most bioavailable with the highest particle surface area, which is important)
2.    Ionic Colloidal Silver (less expensive and are also what CS generators produce)
3.    Silver Protein “colloidal” silver (NOT recommended!)

I use MesoSilver 20ppm and Source Naturals Wellness 30ppm (both True CS) and Sovereign Silver 10ppm (Ionic). The one I use the most is Source Naturals Wellness 30ppm--internally and externally for my kitties. If you get Source Naturals brand, make sure it says "Wellness" on the label too (can see the product using the link above), as that is the one you want. With my kitties I've found that the two True CSs are more effective than the Ionic I mentioned.

I'll get that darn "informational" post done one of these days. There is so much information regarding CS that one needs to be aware of. Not all CS are created equal (as in 1, 2, and  above), so I want to go more in depth so others will know what to look for and how to choose a good one.

Hope this helps a bit!

Hello WhollyCat.  Quick question, if you don't mind, is the Source Naturals Colloidal Silver 10ppm still good to use?  It does not say "Wellness" on it.  My girlfriend ordered it instead of the Wellness 30ppm because most sites were sold out.  We are dealing with Upper Respiratory Infections and would like to use it internally and externally(eyes).

Thank You everyone for all the information.

I have been looking on-line and I am unable to find anything other than the Ionic  Colloidal Silver in Canada.

Another question has come up though.  Silver`s that I have been looking at are 15-30 ppm but the one I am going to purchase is only 6 ppm.

That seem`s really low to me.  Should I continue my search for something that has a higher ppm.

So I went to the health food store and found true Colloidal Silver (or so the rep states)

It is made from a company called Double T Silver in Alberta, Canada.

The solution is 10 ppm and I will be starting with 1/2 teaspoon twice a day mixed in food.  Jake is a nervous cat to begin with and to try to give this to him with a syringe, I wouldn't see him for the rest of the evening.

I will update in a couple days on how he is doing.

Thank You again for all the help.

What is wrong with your cat that you want to give him colloidal silver in his food?

I'm not sure what you have read but I have a story that might interest you. My best bud, wizard developed a severe fungal infection that was misdiagnosed for over a year. He suffered two surgeries to clean out his sinus cavities and multiple rounds of antibiotics. After three different vets, one was a university teaching hospital, I was told it was a fungal infection or cancer. The meds for both by that time were cost prohibitive, we had spent over $2500 to save him. I found online that the action of ionic colloidal silver, made by me at home with my little machine and distiller water, has the same action as the expensive meds. It has been six months that he has been on the silver and he is healthy as ever. No, more healthy than ever. He had lost 6 lbs. a full third of his weight, it's all back on now. His coat is more thick and he doesn't shed as much. The vet medical community had written him off. They could not help him. I did. I had my doubts about the silver water but now I know it is a miracle cure. I brewed the silver twice the recommended time so it was stronger and gave it to him with an eye dropper, like medicine. Twice a day for a month then cut back to once a day. Now he gets a dose every couple of days. He isn't healed 100% yet but he is well on his way. Oh, he acts like a kitten at age 13. I will never trust mainstream medicine again. I hope this helps. You don't have to spend a lot to make a solution that will work.

I'm sorry it's sota silver pulses. It's not too expensive but you can make as much as you ever need. It is a Canadian company.
