Hey everyone,
First of all, we love our kitten dearly and because it's holiday right now we can't visit the vet. So instead of worrying the whole week I'm posting this thread to see if anyone can give me a clarification. I'll try to keep this short and concise for you.
We have two new ragdoll kittens. A 6.5 month old male and a 7 month old female. The female seems to have two problems which might be related.
- We can often see her third eyelids on both eyes. Only today I found out this can be a sign of eye problems (but not necessarily). She often has this when she's tired (she might just be lethargic because of the potential eye problems).
- Last week her right eye changed colour drastically. It changed from the normal bright blue eyes to greenish/brown. We we're a bit worried but we figured it might be because some kittens change eye colours when they get older. Her eye changed back to bright blue the day after that.
- Today her LEFT eye changed to yellow/brown. It seems like a worse version of what happened to her right eye. Now this is the second time this happened and I get a bit worried. She can still see with both eyes and both pupils seem to be identical.
Maybe it's easier for you if I describe her personality. She follows us around the house all the time. She likes to lie around us on her little bed. When we've been away for awhile or when we wake her up she starts purring loudly, as if she's happy we're back. When we pet her though, she doesn't purr most of the time. She doesn't attack us or walk away or anything, but the fact that she doesn't purr often and that she cleans herself often when we pet her makes me believe she doesn't enjoy the petting that much. She never hisses, she never miauws (typical for ragdolls) and she can be very playful with her brother (but she's the first one to stop playing).
My personal conclusion is that she has *some* kind of eye problems. I also think she might have headaches because of the eye problems, which seem to be typical for eye problems. Does anyone know what might be going on?
Thanks for reading my post!
