Ok - as I am "technically challenged' - here's my question and problem.

Got a digital picture frame for Christmas. I wanted to show all the pics from my camera on the frame, it worked fine as long as I had the memory card in the frame. Couldn't figure out how to "save" the pics to memory on the frame. Brought it to radio shack and the girl there tried but couldn't do it either. So I figured I'd just keep the memory card in the frame and when I want to use the camera just transfer the memory card back to the camera.

I sat down with my camera and went thru the pictures and wanted to delete some pictures that I didn't want to keep. Screwed something up royally and deleted all the pictures except for two -- only Tony and Angel survivied the picture massacre.

I called Radio Shack and spoke to a very helpful man who said that once I deleted the pics from the memory card there was no getting them back. He said I could buy something that would allow me to take all the pictures, which fortunately are stored on my computer, and transfer them back. I think I need a different type of USB cable (and he mentioned something about a card reader). Told me to come in tomorrow and he'll show me what to do. If I had a laptop I could have brought it in and he'd do it for me, but I have a desk top.

Question is -- do any of you hav any experience with this. Is it easy for the "technically challenged" to do?

Former radioshack employee here ;-)

As for the frame itself, you can not save pictures to it. It must have a memory card with photos on it in order to run, so you are better off buying one specifically for the frame.

If you saved the photos to your computer already via your camera connected to it with a cable you do not need another cable to transfer them back. You would simply put the card in the camera, connect the camera to your computer, and then drag them back into the camera. When you remove the card, they will be there.

P.s. If you need more step-by-step help, I'm always available ^^

Just saw your reply. Exactly how do I do this? I guess I go to my pictures, highlight them, and then how do I drag it to the camera? How do I find the connection to the camera? Hate to sound dumb, but as I said I'm "technically challenged". The pictures are in my picture file, but there are 4 or 5 sets of pictures. Can I do each one separately? Each has maybe 20 or more pictures, depending on when downloaded them.

I'm going to make a video to explain, because it's a lot easier to understand when you can see it ^-^

I'm interested in this thread because I nearly bought a digital picture frame for my aunt for Christmas.  I was trying to figure out if you could store the pictures on the frame without using the memory card and nobody had an answer for me - I went to Staples and Radio Shack.  So, I gather from this thread that you can't store the pictures on any of the frames?  Or just the ones from Radio Shack?  I'm glad I didn't get one.

There are *some* frames that can store a few pictures, but it's usually ten at most. That's not a good reason not to buy one though. Like I said, all you need to do is pick up a $10 SD card, pop it in and you are good to go

Minka - thanks so much for your help and that great instructional video. It even made sense to me! My neighbor's daughter was visiting her mom yesterday and she stopped by as she's very computer savvy. With her watching, I managed to restore all the pictures to the memory card.. She had said to do exactly what you showed on your video. So everybody has been resurrected. Now I know that I need to keep the card in the frame. I will do just what you said - buy a new card for the camera and keep the original one in the frame. I don't want to take a chance on damaging the card by moving it back and forth.

Again --- I really am so grateful for all your help and the trouble you went to to do the video.
