We drove three hours to spend the day with our daughter. She has had numerous health issues, cancer, broken ankles, knee surgeries, and more. She insisted on cooking a meal for us and it was wonderful. She is past 45 years old, but when she opened one of her gifts the big old tears rolled down her face and she cried like a baby. I had bought some nice things for her, but this particular gift came from a yard sale my friend was having. This friends daughter left her teddy bear at home four years ago when she went off to college. The teddy bear was gold and was wearing a black hoodie with the high school name on it in gold letters, school colors. She said it just brought back some wonderful memories and reminded her of her favorite teachers and friends. She said it was her best Christmas present. Just goes to show, the best gift is not always the one that cost the most dollars. It was a blessed day.
