I've been using TCS for a few months now, and today I'd like to say an official "Hello!"
I found TCS after seeing a reference to it a couple of years or so ago, and occasionally I would pop in to read some articles. Then, a few months back, I discovered how interesting the forum is and I've been hanging around ever since. I've learned a lot, and I appreciate how people here try to be so helpful.
Now, I have a confession to make: I don't actually have any cats.
I know, I know; I feel like an imposter
among all these proud cat "parents," many of whom have years of experience caring for felines. The thing is, though I've always wanted to have cats, circumstances were never in my favor... until now.
The reason I joined the forum is that my husband and I moved into a new apartment where the landlord actually agreed to let us have pets! For the first time ever, it's looking like we might be able to adopt! The only obstacle is the tiny "inconvenience" of living in South America, in a place where animal shelters are almost unheard of, and the few that exist seem biased toward dogs. It's not going to be easy to find "just the right" kitties (I'd love to have two); but I want to be prepared for when it happens.
That's why I'm finally introducing myself. There are some questions that I'd like to ask and get feedback on before bringing anyone home, and since it's looking like that might be soon, I feel that it's the right time to explain my situation and start asking away!
So, Hi! I'm StealthKitty! I'm happy that a place like this exists, where so many people are willing to share their knowledge for the benefit of others, and I look forward to learning even more here!
