Sorry to hear about your cats.

Agree with Finnlacey--try better quality food.

Fancy Feast Classic (only) isn't horrible and is relatively low in carbohydrates (but avoid fish flavor ones).

I'll pick some of that up (Fancy Feast) and try that until I can get to Petco.  Thanks for letting me know that finnlacey.  There is one about 50 miles from here, but it will be worth it if that helps them.

Thank you, I didn't know that about what was in those foods.  Never had problems in all these years until now, so I don't know why that is, maybe because the sickest is older, but I hope it's not T. Foetus someone else mentioned that and the timing of both of them being sick is suspicious to me.  I will however get some of the foods you have suggested, whether that is the cause of not because what they are putting in their food is terribly unhealthy sounding.  Those companies should by boycotted.

Make sure they are testing for giardia and tri trich. Those 2 are commonly missed in just fecal floats. At least ask the vet if they looked for those 2. Both parasites look very similar under the microscope. Both are easy to catch with giardia being most common.

As far as cat food goes. I do feed kibble but you will never give them better food unless you make it yourself. I also buy fosterfarms chicken and grind it for the cats. you can also add extra hearts and gizzards to the mix.

If I have a cat with diarrhea that will not stop I will normally feed boiled chicken breast for a few days and that generally will clear it up. Chicken breast is really bland and dry. The other thing I will normally try is IAMS hair ball formula kibble. For some reason IAMS hairball will stop loose stool in its tracks, but only if it is some GI upset and not parasites. Chicken breast is the best route initially. but I would only feed it for not more than a week since your cat will be missing on nutrients during that time.

Yeah, unfortunately they have the money to advertise and make it sound like their food is top notch when it's anything but! And some of us have found out the hard way.

I didn't know that that type of food could do this.  So you too Flint had 2 cats like my situation?  This is sort of gross, but did their feces smell really bad?  That's another symptom of what I'm dealing with, not at all normal smelling, I mean it never smells good, but this is really foul and that also started when the diarrhea started and it's coloring is different too. I already spent a ton of money too.

I heard something about another one too it is tritrichomonas foetus, is that what you meant when you said tri trich?  I am so unfamiliar with these and I highly doubt they were tested for that because both stool samples had litter in them and with the T. Foetus the stool has to be moist.  I researched some of that.

I know, problem is it's Christmas day and nothing's open here.  I have to wait until tomorrow.  Cooked some hamburger and rinsed it really well, gave them that and I've tried pumpkin, they won't eat it.  I tried yogurt and the one that's always ravenously hungry would it eat with chicken.  I hope that's all it is and not that T. Foetus because it could be that too.  I don't know how they'd get it unless somehow it came in from one of us,  Yes, there poop smells  horrible, mainly the oldest and sickest cat, the other one isn't nearly as bad.  I haven't read that yet, busy, but I will.  I believe you though.

No, no baby food, but I am going to pick up lots of stuff to keep on hand.  I just hope this works and it's not something like that one parasite epidemic that started in cattle and somehow cats are getting it.  That sounds horrible and expensive.
